Seems Valve have branched Steam out to mobile in beta

dowload, try to log in, get told " you arent invited, but you are added to a list of future possible invites"

IT's just talking to friends etc isn't it? Which isn't bad I guess.. be nice for them to have their own mobile game store or something in the future though.

I mean an actual new part of Steam where they sell Mobile games etc.. would be pretty nice..

I just don't see why there is so much hype about this app, it's just and IM app really and theres 100's of those.

but not one that allows you to talk to people in steam IM

I have a few friends that are just on steam IM and when i am away on work it will now be nice to keep in touch rather than having to wait till i get back home.

I use steam IM more than MSN IM or any others now tbh

If you can use Steam IM outside of steam hopefully for a start you'll be able to see more clients using Steam chat.
I'd imagine it'll become an identify/management source as well, e.g. "did you just login to steam, no, ok, we've logged that IP out"
