well.. i for one will not go 41 cave with my shammy.. i respecced to 14 mending (from 22) at lvl 40 and i hate it BAD!! im gonna go for 32 aug thats for sure.. but i will also push my mending up way more then it is now... sure i wont have the best DD spell but who gives a crap... atleast my heals wont get resisted...

For my healer im going:

40mend, 38 pac, 4 aug (47,5 atm)

For my shammie im going:

42 aug, 33 mend, 7 cave (46 atm)


^^ pure support speced, heavy mending in short time (cast) is the reason why. Works wonders Wild Healing aswell ! Shamans high aug for grp. resists/buffs.

Heavy CC is kinda worthless imo, with SI/SC resists, grp/self purge etc.....its enough with 38 pac. POM? well PoC/Serenity/MCL makes that1 also expendable. Insta? Gets purged anyway....

Heavy CC is more necessary than ever. Resists don't affect base chance to hit on CC spells (that is determined by spell and target levels), resists only affect duration. And only the best CC spells have the best duration.

48 Pac AE stun covers an area 5.6 times greater than the 38 Pac version (it's even better than the castable AE stun). Even with resists that's enough to get the upper hand (and get that castable AE mez off) in most even situations. The 38 stun/mez is only really useful as an 'escape' spell when more than one enemy is on you. 48 Pac AE insta stun is an offensive weapon.

The key is that, regardless of resists, CC spells will have pretty much the same chance to outright resist as they ever have. The only difference is that spell level not caster level is used - again a 48Pac Healer will rule.
