I'm thinking about starting a skald on prydwen, but ill ask here aswell cause there are more ppl here ;)

Anyway... whats the best spec for an all-round skald? I want to start a norse, but where to put the starting points in?
And how to play a skald to it's full potential? How to play best in groups/rvr and solo...

thanks.

Ability points:

Put your points into any of the following...

STR- You want to hit hard.

DEX- So you evade once in a while.

QUI- You use a slowass 2hander, making your swings faster could be smart.

CHA- Makes your direct damage shouts do more damage.

CON- Skalds dont have much hp compared to pure tanks, high con helps against this weakness.

Skill points:

Battlesong: 46.
-Gives you the best damage add chant, and the best dds.

Weapon: 44.
-Gives you decent weapon skill, getting + sword items doesn't hurt though.

Parry: 17.
-Lets you parry once in a while and they can, if you're good, chain off to a couple of bleeding/slowing styles. But in RvR you nearly never ever get to do this though.

RvR combat:

In groups, try to hang back and wait for enemy tanks to engage friendly tanks then zoom past the fighting, mezzing any tank hanging back to protect support classes, and go for the skalds main target: The pesky caster types.

Solo duels, DD DD hit mez rest dd dd hit hit hit dd dd and so on till either you or the foe bites the dust.

In PVE:

Use your damage chant while group fights, rest while group rest. Other than that simply fight with styles and dds and do as much damage as possible. Don't use taunt styles unless to save a unfortunate caster as you aren't any good at tanking.

Listen to the Wolf, he's a good skald :)

His template is great, exactly the same as mine. It may be a bit cookie-cutter-ish, but it get's the job done!

starting a skald

ehhh...I thought dexterity determines how much you parry and block and quickness determines how much you evade and how fast you swing?

Theres alot of speculation over what which stats influence...

We are capping the maximum amount that any player (of any class) can evade at 50%. Assassins are the only classes that can currently go above this cap, by linking together their Evade 7 ability, plus the Realm Ability Dodger, plus bonuses from dexterity.
