Start > Run > msconfig

Click the startup tab and untick the crap you don't want.

Start > Run > msconfig

Click the startup tab and untick the crap you don't want.

Need to add onto this..

Once you've gone on to the `Startup` tab, you'll see:

Startup Item | Command | Location (can ignore Location)

Once you've seen the "Startup Item" you want to remove, check the "Command" location aswell, in several cases I've seen (People with poor net security/people who don't care for what they do online) people with programs which they don't know about running on there. (Which don't actually belong on the computer)

Be careful with what you tick off.

Also, when you've rebooted. Tick the little box :) Is basically a window asking if you want to stop the window coming up every time you turn the machine on.

Don't forget to clean up the "Startup" folder in the programs, some of the applications listed there don't show up in msconfig, be mindful of that.
