My opinion exactly. Filming himself at school, claiming he didn't know it was recording when he was blatantly looking at the camera, then leaving the tape on a desk where he knew it would be easily found. He wanted the tape to be found, someone said earlier when they were bullied, they got even. Well, I would say he's done a pretty good job of getting even, setting it up perfectly.

Easy answer - that poor kids parents are American. Any americans readin this, don't go getting all pissy - where else in the world can you sue the makers of Winnebago, because you bought a brand new, top of the range caravan (lets boil that one down right now, they're caravan's) with cruise control, set it to 50 along the "highway" then went back to make a sandwich. The thing crashed and burned, he walked away and sued - now car manuals always state that cruise control means "You MUST STAY AT THE WHEEL OF THE VEHICLE!"

In England (well, in London anyhoo) instead of sueing, you'd get a bunch of your mates together, go find the thalidomide who started that one cirulating, and beat his head against something, then make the most out of your fame - No matter how demeaning it is to this kid, the only way he'll get over it without mental scarring is to play up to it and bathe in his glory of popularity (even if borne of mockery)
Anyways, on another note, i will say that this kid is dense for not wiping that tape, if he never intended anyone to see it.

And it seems that Ghylsain was quite jovial about the whole thing when talking to web designers Baio and Mukerji, of Waxy.org (the first site to show the film), before the law suit was filed

It was only after the situation had calmed down and the Star Wars Kid wasn't getting any more attention (and the donations from web viewers had stopped rolling in) that the parents decided to launch the law suit.
The real details of the case won't be made public until the end of the court case, so preaching about 'facts first' is perhaps a little silly. The only thing we have to go on is rumours which have passed through hundreds of other people before reaching us, and there are so many different stories of what happened floating around, that you can't believe any of them. Opinion is the only thing we have at the moment.

Fuck,(always a good word to start with) if i saw a kid who made a flic like that i wouldn't laugh. I'd just give a good 'ol thumbs up and give credit for the big cajongas the guy has hanging.
Now..if the kid started crying and whining when someone laughs at it. Then i'd think of the fattie as a pathetic lil wanker.
Just be man enough to keep your chin up after it gets out or hell, release it before others can and be proud of it and soon noone will fuck with ya(well except the girls but that's a different story).
That "i'll sue your ass" crap in the states is a perfect example of the lollipop in the mouth culture they run there.

like i said earlier maybe saying he deserved to be bullied was a little harsh, but he deserved to be mocked. bit too much home made baileys last night.
and like some1 else said, if it were me, granted i would swing the golf ball retriever a little more elegantly, i would laugh with the mockers, as you say he prolly could have done a commercial or two.

That kid was acting like a looser if it was for real...(I think not though). Anyway I am sure that if our lives were on tape there would be many prime moments from all of us.
It's a fact he is gonna get more shit for being fat and geeky looking, but it's his image choice...society can be very cruel and pretencious but int he end of the day you make your own choices on how you look to a certain degree.

Quite frankly I can't see any reason to criticise him at all..he's doing what he likes and having fun doing it...
At least he's got the bollocks to do what he wants rather then have his life run by the limitations placed on people by society.

Ive too been mocked alot in my younger years, but somehow I still got alot of friends and dont give a shit about others and being popular. altho this is what I have learnt the last years and when I was 15 things were different.
its hard to say how it actually happened since I dont know him but my therory is that those friends of him arent as good friends as they state... of course they got a hold of the tape and laughed... hell I did too.
and though it would be fun if others would se it not really caring about Ghyslain at all.
Guys like him usually has some close friends that probably wouldnt release this on the net.
I admire the SWK....dammit he rocks and its a shame people have to mock him in school for this.
And there are alot of other people supporting him around the world and Im one of em.... 57 000 people have signed the Petition to get him into the third starwars movie and the numbers are rising damn fast
