Quite possibly the worst stand-up act I've ever had the displeasure of watching. I've laughed at him, but never with him, if you get me.

As for those I like; Jack Dee, Jasper Carrot, & Jonathon Ross when he has his high points. Izzard's alright, but I've never had hysterics while watching him.

Personal opinions on the house.

Not impersonations, you fool! Make your own characters to 'play out' your routine.

I worked out everybody who lived was therefore condemned to die at the age of four, and I got dragged of to see a psychaitrist very very promptly. Everytime we had to sing the grandfather clock I'd break down into grand bouts of mournful crying for the decomposing "old man", and I tried to warn all and sundry that they and their parents were mortal. Maybe thats a place to start from?
Yeah! Start there! If we're continuing the character thing then there's plenty in that one 'sketch' alone. There's you, the psychiatrist, some innocent wide-eyed children, an out-of-her depth teacher... Man! That's comedy gold!

Heh, ta Summo! I will do this! I may do it without leaving a shred of dignity in tact, but even if it turns into Damini's Golden Showers of Terror, at least I tried. And should that happen Gumbo, I'll save you front row seats ; )

Bleh... I find him funny in that sense, yeah. Just not side-splittingly funny.

Billy Connolly is the funniest man alive. He can say fuck like no one else I have heard and can make a joke out of just about anything. Craig Charles, Tim Allen, Robin Williams and Jasper Carrot are also damn funny live. Special Credit should also go out to Dom Joly's stand up routine for being so hilariously shit it was unbelieveable. The good thing was, he was intending it to be shit. Those of you who have Trigger Happy Season 2 DVD will know what Im on about :)

Heh, I completely agree. I was in stitches watching it, simply because it was so (intentionally) poor. :)

I forgot about Dave Allen, he was excellent stand-up, and also does anyone remember "Kevin Turvey" (Rik Mayall) ?

AFAIK Craig Charles didn't do comedy as such, he was a "poet" :)

I went to see Mark Lamarr recently. He was quite good in a "abuse the audience " kind of way :)

The humour of that actually wore off after about two minutes though, and it actually became genuinely shit. I actually started to feel sorry for the guy after a while... how does he do it?! :)
