How the hell does Japan always seem to create T.V. that is total crap, and yet at the same time is so compelling and impossible to take your eyes off?

One of the best shows I have seen on T.V. is the brilliant Takeshi's Castle, a perfect sign of Japanese T.V. A show where a hundred people enter, but no one ever wins.
