.srt files ?

Wanna scare my gf with the Japanese version of the Ring films :p only trouble is I can't work out how to get a .srt file working, windows media player doesn't seem to want to do it, and the guides i looked at on the web were'nt much help. anyone got any advice? would appreciate it :)

.srt is a subtitle file

basically use VLC (awesome player plays all codecs)
www.videolan.org

File / Open File /

choose your video file, then tick use a subtitles track and direct it to your .srt file

bingo!

Then fetch a fresh bog roll for when you poop yourselves

Windows Media Player can do it, but it's fairly tricky. Just use VLC and you'll be fine :)

Use the "Rent and Pay" player and stop being a pirate bastards :D

People said it, VLC for the preverbial win.

You have to download and install vobsub, put the srt file and in the same folder as the movie and make sure it has the same name as the movie file. Then Media Player will play the subtitles. Ez as pie

.srt is an aids file, if you open it you catch aids and your pc explodes.
