throdgrain: HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! You support forest!!!!!!

i have to say, forest fans are all painfully condescending, and whilst knowing the intricate details of why every other team sucks, assume they can annihlate everyone they play. 70s was a long time ago, guys.

never mind, you might survive.

In the words of forests' opposition fans at most games last season, "YOU'RE NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE!! YOURE NOT FAMOUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ANY MOOOOOOOOOORE!!"

annnnd..........relax.... m00

Just a few thoughts:
1) On the "ability to pay"argument, the % of totally revenues that Football Clubs pay out in players wages is astronomical,65%+ is the norm, with some teams way over that (Hibs almost 90% this season!). The issue here is that has only happened in the last 5+ years. Yes we have a few new stadiums to boot, but in most cases, only built by teams that have stayed out of the big bidding wars, or have a clear benefactor (Gibbo @ Boro, etc). We talk about "teh business of football", but every year for teh last 3, the PwC "Auditors" have identified thsi over-paying as a massive issue that could cause a massive isse. If the TV money ever dries up / reduces (over-exposure, anyone...), we will see teams crash.
2) Risdale (Leeds Chairman) was on 5 Live last night, commented that only 1/8 football revenue comes from Ticket sales, rest TV / Sponsorship / Merchandising. So why is it so expensve to get to a game ?
3) On Campbell, one of the Sunday paper's this week printed some excerpts from the Carling Opta statistics. On passes completed, Campbell was clearly in the bottom half of the table, same for Key interceptions. There were players above him in relegated teams (Dunne from Man City). so why on earth would anyone want to break the UK Football wage record, for a player who on the season's stats, is no better than average. Yes he can head the ball, but so can any muppet. I console myself in the thought that when Campbell refused the last Spurs offer, Hoddle may have shown him teh Opta print-out and just wished him luck on getting his wage demands anywhere.
4) Campbell always intended to leave, money is teh "excuse" and I think teh people most p*ssed should be teh Spurs fans, who he's led along all season. It was clear Spours were not going to be in teh Champions League, so given that he knew he'd be leaving, just didn't have teh guts to say it a few months back as he didn't want to get barracked by the fans.

Too wordy, soz, just once I started typing, the fervour seized me...

LOL.

Its great being an Arsenal fan, seeing Spurs getting shitter by the minute.

They have signed an OAP on a free transfer from Man.Utd, have let their best player leave on a free, and have signed a Yugoslav defender who's name sounds like Bungee Jump!!
