Spraggon Den can be cleared

If I'm online I'm willing to help out, it needs to be cleared so all thos alts stomping in their 20's can exp properly

I don't know where this chieftan is, and the french druid who wrote up the expedition said they found him near "le Roi des Profondeurs" (the King of the Depths) or "le Roi Spraggon" (the Spraggon King). Is he talking about Spriggit?

One thing I had not tried on previous expeditions was to stealth past the strangers. Hopefully they don't all have See Hidden - has anyone tried this, to scout around a bit and see if they can find this chieftan?

As to levels, as far as I'm concerned anyone and everyone is invited. But be prepared to die a lot and lose a ton of exp - on the night of the invasion I died four times in the Den, and that was when there was more than a hundred hibs down there.

I don't think you CAN even stealth as I heard you get a message about an invisible man making it impossible to stealth....

There is a new presence in Spraggon Den. While trying to stealth in i got the message "the invisible man uncovers you" compared with you are too close to an enemy to hide. This happens from the entrance till i can actually see the first guards and im sure that didnt happen before.

I cant target that thing with F8 and of course - invisible mans cant be seen......

Oh ho! If, to free Spraggon Den, we have to talk to that slave chieftan, then the GMs didn't want us to just send down one ranger or nightshade to do it - we have to fight our way down there. Curse you, GOA Event Team! *shakes fist*

I've been part of 3 expeditions to clear spraggon den so far:

1st) general gankfest without any real coordination (we rushed so fast through the dungeon we could have missed a glacier giant in there)

2nd) 1 fg carefully trying to get through the dungeon, we went to every corner of the dungeon talked to every slave (with keywords like: break, strangers, RUN AWAY YOU DAMN FOOL! etc.) and killed every single one of the strangers.
There is no slave chieftain in this dungeon. We cleared pit.. we also cleared the area around Yadda. We were everywhere, even ended up wearing the drops and trying to convince them we were strangers lol.

3rd) 2 fgs again clearing the entire dungeon. And again no slave chieftain or anything remotely like it. My guess is they forgot to put one in ours just like they forgot to translate the name of 1 slave (esclave, french for slave)

PS: been reading the french forums and the chief slave they're talking about is our esclave :)

Lol, I'm gonna speak french to it, ow.. and btw, smiths hammers don't work :)

alrindel u can stealth down!

i made it quite far in and even nearly back out, got uncovered quite a lot of times, but was always lucky

It's entirely possible that it was not possible to clear Spraggon Den before, and GOA have since fixed things so that it is possible to do it now. King Korrigan now responds to keywords that he didn't respond to initially.

It's also entirely possible that it is still not possible to clear Spraggon Den, but I think that given what just happened on Ys, it's time to try again.

And Thanatlos - I have been systematically trying keywords in english and french on the NPCs since the campaign began, you never know!

How does 21h00 Paris time tonight sound? (that would be 8pm UK time I think). Meet outside the Spraggon Den entrance.

i guess you have already noticed this phrase when trying to throw spells upon the sentinels at entrance...

"Your spell was absorbed by a magical barrier"

Just a small update:

We managed to free a slave!
Yes, we did.. mr. Esclave or officially know as the slave GOA conveniently FORGOT to translate dammit is now a free esclave or whatever.. ;)

Ok, we managed to get 2 fgs down there clearing the place up a bit and we arrived at mr. Esclave so we tried a few words. Well, turns out he reacts to the phrase 'briser les chaines' or 'break the chains' in english (the latter invokes no response though).

Slave reacting to french

Well, no other changes were noted in NPC reactions in tir na nog nor did the strangers seem to stop popping afterwards.
So we're not quite sure what the hell this accomplished but at least it's another step forward :)
