imo it would bring up a quote box "box" which would be black filled with black writing, then you would view it by highlighting the text.

That's done easily enough, goto the Style Manager, then for the top-most style (assuming its setup to inherit etc.) goto the "Main CSS", then right at the bottom in the "Additional CSS Definitions" add this:

blockquote.spoiler { padding: 8px; background: #000000; color: #000000; }

Then goto the "Custom BB Codes" -> "Add New BB Code":

Title: Spoiler
Tag: spoiler
Replacement: <blockquote class="spoiler" title="Select the text to read the spoiler!">{param}</blockquote>
Example: [spoiler]Quake r0x0rs![/spoiler]
Description: Guess ...
Use {option}: No

And voila.
