Spiritmaster - Kobbie vs Frostie? :)

NF is on the doorstep and is forcing me to roll a ranged dmg class

Well sm was my choice but i havent decided on race yet.

First i thought Frostalf due the hight piety but then Kobbie have that high dex.

So more dmg or faster casting speed?

Now i want some comments.. pro and cons of the two races.

Maybe some tip about how to put the stat points out too...

Not a mid expert, but I'd take a kobby and 15dex 10pie.

Cast spd > little more dmg in my opinion.

I play Frostalf SM, I chose Frostalf cuz I had plenty of cloth armour with +dex, I found it hard to find decent Armour with +piety, But I do get told that Kobbie are good as SM, I would say try it on Gorre while you can, good thing about gorre is that you can /level to 50 so give both ago ... Good Luck

As a ranged mid caster my target priorities are (in the relatively rare occations when its not visually obvious who is who):

Alb:
Avalonian, Inconnu, Saracen, ....

Hib:
Luri, ...


Hopefully I get passed by from time to time because im Norse myself

I wouldn't chose kobold cause of the size.


With morphs it doesn't matter at all how big/small you are .


If you want more dex, pick kobold
If you want more pie, pick frostalf

Kobbie for the size, templates in OF may have 2x morph, however any decent ones in NF only has scalars morph.

kobbie is better overall cuz of their higher starting dex, but Roleplayers like me pick frostalf for teh looks (extra piety aint a biggie tbh, t_t small dood with stick is a definite no to me after luwi chanter though).

Smart enemy will know what is your class anyways, but newbs tend to target koboldz first usually on the other hand. Will cure the casting speed with buying aug dex4 instead of 3 :-o

Kobold imo, afaik dex doesnt have diminishing returns as the rest of stats including pie has. Sick castspeed is wtg imo. Problem is not getting pie items tho, you'll want power % items and pom charges ;p
