Is it possible to get your own spider/web crawler program to check all your links to see which ones link back?

I wrote some spiders a while ago, it takes some programing skill tho

if you want a quick fix just do this.
typing link:www.mysite.com will show all other sites linking to the www.mysite.com

thanks, I know about the 'link:' command for search engines, it's not all that reliable or realistic though.

Do you really need to find links, or would a local log analysis (provided you have referrers logged) tell you that you are getting links in from expected sites?
