Aye, and I generally agree with the CoC, but I just think you've taken the removing/closing of threads/posts rather far, particulary because I'm used to being able to say whatever I feel like, since there wasn't really anyone moderating the Pryd forums before the merge :e I'm fine with threads getting locked if people get down to real life insults or racial shit, but just taking the piss out of one another or whining about adding, as that's hardly as bad as calling people ***** or so, are fairly harmless.

Might have been before the cluster but there was a time where you couldn't post a grats thread without it turning into a flame war because a small segment of the daoc community that thinks they're better than everyone likes to flame the bjeesus out of everyone who's not in it.

Hence add whine rules ;) adding ain't against the rules, if someone who happens to not subscribe to the "no adding" magazine monthly dings RRwhatever they shouldn't be subjected to a truckload of abuse. They played the game, they got their RRs, they get their grats thread.

Well, how about not whining in gratz threads then, but whining at everything else? Sounds fair :<

Not much fun if every discussion turns into "yeah you might say that about warlocks but you're an adding coxxor!" ;)

The thing about the whole grats thread being flamed because the person doesnt care about adding, is..

The people generally who dont care about adding, and get flamed in their posts, generaly say they dont care if people dont like how they play, etc etc..

I think its more down to the mods here, who have a personal thing about adding, because frankly I rarely see you guys nuckle down on someone who gets flamed because they play a warlock, the ban/lock/delete stick usualy only comes out once adding is mentioned.

Yeah I know this aint FreddysDemocracy.com and I appreciate that, but frankly it aint FlimsHouse.com either.

I know I shouldnt be targeting you only, but its just because your in this discussion too. But to me the FH CoC simply protects the mods/admins/whatever view of the game.

And again I know this isnt a democracy, im just trying to get you too realise that you(Mods/FH CoC in general) dont really have the moral highground here defending people who add and their grats posts, because you(Mods/FH CoC in general) dont give a shite about people who get flamed for playing "lame" classes, or people who whine about gank groups (yes they do exist), those are perfectly acceptable, its when its an attack on your(Mods/FH CoC in general) idea of Daoc, things get locked/deleted/banned.

Yeah, and I do await the "shove it, make your own forum" reply, which is perfectly acceptable, but a bit boring. I like FH as it is, even with the things I dont like, its still a good forum. But I would much prefare, if the mods/admins point of view wasnt shoved down our mouth, especially when they pretend to come from the angle of defending everybody having a difirent way of playing.

Well said Melachi, i agree with you completely.

I personally try not to whine here on FH but i do find it quite entertaining to read and its sometimes informative to know that a certain person/group will always roll you whenever theres a chance.

Id say that a forum should adjust to suit the majority of its users(those who yell the loudest/post most) and they generally believe adding/zerging whatever is bad, therefore whining about it should be ok.

But yeah who are we to doubt the word of the gods(mods) about rules etc :p

Gives me something to read tho :p I don't think there've been quite as many 'friendly' threads that passed like 10+ pages as there have been flames, and they can be quite fun to read :d

It's not "their gratz thread".. I contributed by suiciding again and again on their zerg.. i'm gratzing myself for having the patience to go back and get farmed for rr7 (or whatever) realm levels.. if I can't post my whine in my own gratz thread, what's the world coming to!!!!

p.s. I may actually have surpassed my normal level of twisted (omg what's that fool talking about now) logic with this one..
