Been checking out spellcrafting and what is "possible" to craft.

All items crafted below are AF51 cloth Masterpieces. Gems used are 100% quality also. The spellcrafter have 1100+ skill (dunno what cap is, but its above 1100+ right?)

Gloves: +16 Int +9% Matter/Thrust +7% Spirit
Boots: +22 Int/Dex/Con +7% Crush
Helm: +22 Int/Dex/Con +7% Slash
Pants: +10 Int +6 Wind +9% Thrust +1% Spirit
Arms: +9% Body/Energy +7% Matter/Heat
Robe: +9% Spirit/Slash +7% Cold/Crush

Staff: +50 Wind/Earth Focus

Items used to that setup:
Giant ring of the Wits: +6 Int/Dex +4% Crush/Slash
Soul-Forged Bracer: +51 Hp +15 Str (debuff charge)
Infernal Black Diamond Belt: +67 Hp
Avernal Necklace: +19 Con +10% Heat/Energy
Kraggon Cloak: +15 Dex +16% Body (might be changed to 8% Body/cold)
Infernal Black Diamond Bracer: +10 Con/Dex/Cha

This setup gives me:

Int: 210 (1 over cap)
Dex: 168 (0 over cap)
Con: 128 (2 under cap)
Str: 60

Slash: 20%
Thrust: 18%
Crush: 18%
Body: 25% (or 17% depends on Kraggon Cloak change)
Energy: 19%
Cold: 7% (or 15% depends on Kraggon Cloak change)
Spirit: 10%
Matter: 16%
Heat: 17%

HP: +118

I think the magic resists are ubercrap... might have to look up better bracers/rings etc etc to lose some of that +22 int/dex/con stats on cloth and change for resists.
Also the +hp could be better. And Kraggon Cloak is sucky compared to what u can do with spellcrafting :)

About the staff. Currently the Spellcalculator ive used is bugged and the Focus stuff doesnt work properly, so coulnt look up the DualFocus thing really works, maybe i can add some more on staff, +wind maybe.

Just a little notice. For a 1100+ spellcrafter chance for a successfull imbue on all the cloth is 70% LMAO, details details.... it CAN be done. :p

Uses no items I don't already have. Apart from the ring of malice, which is going to screw the whole setup up until i get it. :rolleyes:

Bad things are, no quickness on it, plus body/energy/cold are mildly over the cap. (4%, 2% and 1%)
Only a 'first' (bout fifth in reality) draft, got some really anally-retentive tweaking to do before I'm happy with it...
Amongst other things there are neckies, bracers with higher utility than the ones i've listed, so.. might have to fiddle everything around. =/

hmm is it just me or doest it cost more imbue points to add +resists on crafted?

i shall check if i can find as many +resist on itamz and do the rest with sc

Them spell resists need some work, actually apart from the nice body resist they all kinda suck.

Envying casters when it gets to SC...
They have 3 stats to put on their armor (dex/acuity/con) and at most 3 skills to put +skills to. Though why, say, an eldritch would want +11light, +11mana AND +11void is beyond me...

Looking at minstrels, I've got stealth/melee spec/instruments (which is 3 must-haves, rather than 1 must-have and a 2nd luxury) and ideally 5 stats - str con dex qui(for evaderate) and charisma....
Tanks lose out there too, can imagine a hybrid armsman trying to max parry/polearm/slash/shield/xbow ^^
Esp. as the most you can POSSIBLY (v. high crafter skill and lucky overcharge) get from one item is +8skill.

And wow are assassins in trouble there. ;)
Typical inf: envenom, DW, thrust, CritStrike, Stealth
All +11 unless very very high RR and not respecced accordingly..
Str con dex qui
Slash/Crush/Thrust/Body/Heat/Energy resists... ouch ouch ouch :p

Overcharging masterpieces?

Good luck, I expect Ill be far too scared to try that with mine ;)

Remember that you can probably expect to have a spellcrafted cloak. Mythic changed this a week or so after it went live in US, but were happy to leave all cloaks created as a result of the 'bug' in-game. The cost (assuming 'sane' markup by crafters) is ridiculously cheap :)

Oh, and I dont know what calculator you were using to work that out, but the best Ive come across is http://theharms.org/daoc/sc-calc.html. If someones come across a better one it'd be nice to know about.

I've pretty much the same setup coming as Pin, assuming I can gather enough money for a MP set & weapons, but no ninja-swapping or +hits nor hard to get items. Barring the swapping & +hits, the resists are a bit different. With a couple hard to get items I suspect it'd be possible to get a setup with capped resists, stats and hits, with +11 to 4 skills - +11 to 5 is pretty impossible to fit there without sacrificing something else, which would be +hits for me.

I'll sell the setup info for 10p :p

Well, here's the full config report after a bit more tweaking.
But I don't think most people are going to be too happy with the 37/32 point overcharges on most items ;)

Anyway, I believe the jewelry set up is altogether the best to be found (although there's probably more SI items not known about yet, and maybe some random drops from the RvR dungeon to get next patch which might beat some). The worst items are the rings and belt. Haven't managed to find anything better though :(


My guess is this would cost about 15plat to make :D

Capping 9 resists, 4 stats, hits and +11 to 4 skills is impossible with Albion items, although the proof of this is too long to fit in the margin ;)


(You'd need a total of 938 Utility points for this (actually more due to the odd wasted % resist, etc). The highest I could get from Albion jewelry, cloak, belt, etc was ~400. That leaves ~540 to go between 8 SC'd crafted items, which I don't believe is possible, even overcharging all items to 37 imbue points)

No, but I'm not going to predict exactly what they'll be. I'll likely use 99s though. That's supposedly a 38% chance on the 37/32 overcharges :eek6:

OK, grand summoner's mantle and massively unlikely overcharges would be the reason why I couldn't get close to that kind of setup.
I mean, WOW if you actually manage to get it together, but it's a bit unrealistic surely? ;)

Hoping to cap 5 stats, 2 skills, my +hp and all but spirit and matter resist.
Unless I get a realm respec sometime, I'm stuck with my resists starting from 12% instead of 0%, so I can probably drop down a load of em if i need to...

5 point overcharge isn't that much to be asked atleast according to some tests. Just make sure the jewels are 98+ and crafter's 1k.

I'm getting pretty much the same config currently as Pin (small variances ofcourse), but with Ignuix's Portible Shadow as cloak and no +hits. Why, oh why only 1 gem combination gives 75 utility, and it's even only 3 point overcharge :(

Well, I tried looking up what overcharges are 'likely', but there isn't very much data out there... The best I could come up with was this thread:

Looking at Leladia's posts

So, 36 and 37 points on MP level 51 items doesn't seem all that unlikely.


On the Summoner's Mantle.... Yup, that's the 1 item in my set up that will be tough to get hold of. At least I'll be able to use a player-made MP cloak until I could get one (I'm sure I could find something in Katou's vault worthy of the trade ;) )

I'm starting to think that the program's bugged - 80 utility on a item that can succeed and I'm quite sure I tried it earlier. Nevertheless, it works after restarting it. 4x4 skills on a MP is doable :D

Basically, you get a better rate of Utility/Embue cost with +skills than the rest (first level of skill is free to add), next is resists, and then +hits and +stats are last.

Sure you can group all the +skills on 1 item and get 80 utility, but after doing 1 or 2 items like that you'll be struggling to get much over 60 utility on the others.

If I where you Id wait till SI is released. I had both my theurg and my infil's Spell craft template all sorted until I fould out about some of the items available in SI. they are really really amazing. e.g a quest that anyone can do that gives you 2 bracers to choose from out of 8 different types, yes i said 2 !! all the different types of bracer I saw would come close to somthing you would expect to see drop from the DF prince.

I only mentioned the bracer quest here but you can be sure there are going to be a few more real nice items come SI. so best not to go spending billions of plat getting 100% qual armour weps shield and whatever all overspeced will 100% qual jewels just yet :p

cant remember link to bracer info but will post it when i see it again.
