Spell Pierce %

Can somebody explain to me why 10% spell pierce is a must on characters?

I was testing this on my minstrel DD against PvE Mobs and the difference from 5 to 10 is extremely minimal.

10% pierce
DD 1: 312
DD 2: 271

5% pierce
DD 1: 309
DD 2: 268

0% pierce
DD 1: 292
DD 2: 254

I know its only a PvE Mob but is there a massive difference v's Player?

Spellpierce doesn't work in PvE.

It removes 10% of the target's Equipment Resist, Therefore it doesn't work on Pve.
The difference in PvP is massive , it can increase your Damage by a lot.
if the target has 40% resists , with Spell pierce 10% you can increase your damage by 16.5%

It only removes resists from items, not resist-buffs btw. But most people have at least 10% resists, so in PvP it is pretty much the best damage-increase you can get as caster.
