With spell crafting and alchemy soon to be comming (hopefully) does anyone know if it will be possible to have a DoT proc on a ranged weapon / bow?

Main reason i ask this is cos it would be nice to land a crit shot and posion them at the same time.. might actually mean us scouts have a chance to kill someone ;)

Sorry if this is a n00bish question but i havnt played in a while so my knowledge is a little out of date

Thanks

No, it will not be possible to have any kind of proc on a bow. It can, however, be imbued with charges.

and when shooting at someone far away with reactive proc's on his armor, you may very likely hit a reactive proc, be nuked by it, and interupted....

Man that sucks big time

So what are you planning to have on your player crafted bows then?

+something bow
+something stealth
+something quickness

Those skills are the only things I use when wielding a bow, keeping in mind I won't afford buying new spell crafted armor and will thus keep my epic, easily capping dex.

my MP 16.5/5.5 will prolly blow up the spellcrafter since I want +7Recurve bow and +4 stealth and +1% to heat on it, thats 38% chanse of success for a 1001+ skilled Spellcrafter with 100%gems.

:D

the interesting though is this, will we be able to apply tinktures with glows and shit to the bows when they implement it so that alchemist can do those? I really really want a flaming bow, screw the charge imo ;)

oh and blood is right, 10% chanse that we will be hit back on 2000 range with a procc if the target have reactive proccs, as if BT and PBT wasnt enuff, and we cant have proccs on our bows, cuz its too far away?? wtf Mythic!!!?? lol

Alchemists cannot add glowing effects to weapons and may never be able too.

After making the announcement, Mythic asked their coders to do it, and the coders said 'wtf, we can't do that'.... or something along those lines.

Bow's should proc through the arrows. For instance, every arrow which flies, has a chance to proc on impact. Would be even better if the chance-to-proc is decided before the arrow flies, and say your bow has a heat proc, the arrow has a flame effect when leaving the bow :D

Shike, why do you want to blow up your bow? You're crazy.

1 skill point is worth shit.

hmm GP i saw somewhere that mythic are gonna try tho.... will try and find some more info on that one

And sarnat, why not?? Its just a bow eh? Can always make more? Its a fun thing to do? I wanna own the best bow in Hibernia? I as a person loves this kinda shit with trinkets and stuff and wanna maximize my chars performance gearwise and leave to me to do rest with it. I see it more as more of a fun experiment really. I want to see how far this spellcrafting system can be pushed. So what if the bow blows up and kills the spellcrafter? We'll have a laugh for sure ;)
In your world 1 skillpoint is worth shit, in my world 1 skillpoint is worth more than shit ok?

I picked up my crafting again after letting it slide for quite a while. Though was tempted to bin it in favour of spellcrafting when it becomes available, I decided to stick with it, since everyone and their dog is going to be doing spellcrafting and alchemy.

Personally, I'd love a staff with 50 focus levels in darkness, suppression and summoning, which would save all that switching about. Not found a decent general purpose staff since Frozen Soul Shatterer.

Has anyone actually used a charge from a bow yet? I tried the DF vendor bow and the DF prince bow. I only get the message 'you are to far away to use that effect' or something like that even when I /stick to my target.

Unless you craft these yourselves you should expect to pay a lot of money for a 100% crafted item. Reading on the crafting vn boards many crafters are looking at 4x cost for 99% items, and i forget excatly the multiplier they talking about for 100%, but some items should be around the 2plat mark just for the sheer amount of remakes and time it takes to get a piece with 100%. However some crafters may have some 100% ones ready for sale so you might want to shop around. Im gonna be researching some prices on those boards when I hit 1000 tailoring, and be making myself a 100% cloth and leather suit whilst skilling up, may have some extra parts to sell :)

The problem with adding glowy effects to weapons is that the weapons that are currently ingame can't have them. I'm not expert when it comes to 3d modelling, but apparantly the existing weapons don't have the right nodes for those special effects.

Which means they'd have to re-do every single piece of weaponry ingame to make it able to have an effect.

Would be cool, though. Cool black flames on your weapons and armor. :)

they say that making 99% at 2.5x cost will make you a loss, so will 3x

The thing with glowy weapons is, they're individually modelled.

You'd think mythic could say: "Weapon#82 add Effect#15"
But their coding isn't capable of doing so. That's Mythic for you :D

btw the price of a 16.5/5.5 100% quality is 2.5 plats from Jood in Hibernia. I have no clue of what the others take for one. Maybe Xest is capable of doing one, no idea...

Yep, think all top end crafters should look at their prices, especially if you have to end up doing alot of remakes, since salvaging is nerfed.
