well, something went wrong with the ping test so it seems but the rest ain't all too shabby :)

I don't think that test is very reliable by the way. My connection shouldn't be that fast, especially not the upload.

Not sure how accurate they are for me blueyonder gave a lot of free upgrades now so long ago so Im not even 100% what sort of connection Im on now :p

that test cant be accurate. try doing it a few trimes and see. i just keep getting better and better speed.



/edit: and that london server cant be very good.

mine connection is meant to 10 m/bits.

if i use a router it runs at 4,2

if just used the modem it goes at 8.5

how come i get half speed with router with only this pc connected on it?

Your router could have a max speed. Like our router was capped at 10 mbit, but our connection is 24.

That test can't be accurate, my dl speed was accurate but my upload was way faster than I've ever gone. :)

Yeah, the test is inaccurate.
Your ISP will have a URL you can ping to test speeds
BT has one - something like adslspeedtest.com (or something like that). I know that with BT's URL you don't need to be connected to the net to test it. Just need a BT line
