I was just asying in another place that it's rather realistic actually and after the initial two-three episodes, it's not even cheesy

That aside, it gets better as you go, and it does keep you coming back for more.

Season 2 is delayed though, as the lead actor is being treated for cancer.

Oh and as I mentioned in OT, if you value your penis, take care when watching the end of episode 8.

Without wanting to sound pious (but I'm going to, and it'll be a rant as well) - I'm avoiding it like the plague (being in Oz helps, but only for 1 more day).

I mean, if you want to watch porn grow some balls and do it. I'm so sick of telly being about tittilation for the masses nowadays. I want something that challenges me rather than giving me and the bird random twinges.

Realism it ain't, not by any stretch. It's the TV equivalent of buying Zoo instead of Playboy when you're horny.

Honestly, it's not so much about the tittilation (And if I want to watch pron, I will - this isn't), it's about the gladiators.

We're slowly finding out about the Glads, and there has been plenty of dodgy dealings, backstabbing and all round trickery for the Domainar to rise amongst the roman society.

Just cause it has boobs in it doesn't mean it's rubbish.

And as for realism, whatever happened to suspension of disbelief, it's never tried to be a documentary - it's entertainment, pure and simple.

I've practically stopped watching telly because it's become almost mandatory to leave your brain in the kitchen. Dunno what I'm moaning about though - Australia has been pretty much a porn-fest since I turned up. It's pretty awesome to be in a country where when you smile at a bird they smile back, sit next to you and start up their own conversation!

But anyway, what's The Pacific?

If it was a documentary, or something like Rome which was trying to be accurate, fine - might be why I thought it was shit.

Now, boobs, fighting, and sneaky polictical shit, that keeps me interested. If I want accuracy, I'll watch Discovery.

Exactly, only things unrealistic about the show is some outfits, perhaps the metal used in swords, the speech partly and some aspects of the gladiators pasts.

Other then that, it could very well be a documentary, would have to check up on those times to see the reality and compare.

Pacific was awesome, finally a new show to long for every week. Only 10 eps tho but its ok!

And I partly agree with Scouse. So many shows now that just try to be softporn aired on primetime. It's fighting away the shows that are good for real, cause it takes a reaaaaaally good story to compete away boobies.

Jupiter's cock - I'm enjoying this - because despite the obvious exploitive, trashy aesthetic it's actually quite well written.

Episode 10 is testament to it, by the end I felt gutted and infuriated. Previous episodes have been just as manipulating.

Looking forward to the last couple of episodes now.
