Spammage at forums

As most of you know this is really getting out of hand. People who want to read DaoC related stuff will only find spam here lately and quite frankly it has to stop.

If you want to post non DaoC related stuff use the Off Topic section from DaoC General. If you have questions or feedback on forum, use Feedback forum. If you have issues with users, use the PM option instead of opening a whole topic for them.

I will leave the "Word" thread open for now cause you seem to enjoy it a lot, but let this be the only thread which is non DaoC related stuff.

I have some options to reduce the spam in here, one of it is remove all non DaoC Camlann related topics and another one is ban offenders. I do not like either one of them but i won't let a couple of spammers fuck this whole forum up for those who want to read what the forumtitle says.

So choice is up to you. I'll leave this thread open so you can vent your thoughts about this and everything related in here.

I think you guys can do it though, get things right again. And what happend to the people voting for a Mod? Someone who understands the complicated life of a whining Camlanneer :<

If... and i repeat... if there will be an Off Topic section here it will mean Off Topic and not spam random shit. So regardless of what action will be taken, some of you seriously need to quit the spammage anyway

And as i quite expected, some people seem to even have stopped reading these forums cause of a few spammers. I really don't like that so i rather perma ban some people then to have the same few scare people away.

why not make the damn off topic section and see how its goes. its really not that big a deal to make and it cant do any worse than whats going on at the moment.

i dont mind a laugh and a joke but when you see ppl post "+1"or "agree" thats bullshit. if your gonna spam at least make it funny or attempt to.

ziva/tilda/jupitus it will take 2 seconds to make an off topic forum yet it never happens. why not do it as a test. if ppl wanna mess about then as lomng as they have a section to do it the official questions will be left alone. look at the trading section....no one spams there.

With an Off-topic section, there would be hardly any spam here. But then the off-topic section would be fulled with spam >< so maybe.. we can have a "flame" section

Worth a try, it would definatly filter " some" of the spam away would just have to see if it would pay off and the bandwith / spam would balance each other out.
