Has anyone else installed XP SP3 now the full version is out?

If so, have any of you noticed a serious degradation in the speed at which the print dialogue appears. Have this currently on one machine and it makes no sense. Click print, 60 seconds later it appears, other machines 1 to 2 seconds max.

Help?

I'd have to say No. 2 Lappys and my box all running sp3, wifes box due for an upgrade which i sort of have planned next week so she still on SP2.

You could try logging some stuff from performance, logs and alerts and try to track down whats happening when ya send the print job. Nasty 1 tho as is might not be a direct print issue. So I'd log CPU queue and some HDD/Ram info to.

Could check the spooler, make sure its starting proper. Check event manager see if thats reporting any system problems.

Try adding a second printer pointing to the same device. See what happens here.

Enougth space on HDD ? errr thats it for now, best i can come up with.

I'll add more if i think of anything, but I say ya hardest part is tracking whats going on in the first place. So I'd say set up them performance logs and see whats happening.

GL :)

Yup, a few computers here at work had the same problem. Reinstalling the printer solved it....

Figured it out, had a networked printer that was no longer online. Guess XP was trying to connect to it every time because as soon as it was deleted... pow, full speed ahead again! \o/
