Looks like the Scientology thing might run a bit here in the South Park story line.

Chef has joined a "fruity club" that has brainwashed him. Absolutely fabulous ending and send off to chef. Sad to see such a great character go (possibly)

"So you see we shouldn't be mad at Chef for leaving us. We should be mad at that fruity little club for scrambling his brains. And in the end, somewhere out there, is the good part of Chef, that's still alive in us all"

Bit late for the spoiler warning Chilly: the BBC had kindly linked a spoiler loaded article from their front page on Thursday before most folks would have had a chance to download & watch it never mind having it air on TV.

Interesting article in today's Sunday Times; Their take is that the Scientology episode was cut by Comedy Central because their parent Viacom also owns Paramount, and a they have a lot invested in a little movie called MI:3 this year and couldn't afford to have its star not publicise it...

The Chef ep is very good btw; especially the ending :)

That was a rumour about the times of the original BBC reports on the matter but it was denied by pretty much everyone (certainly Cruise's agent).

I think it's very unlikely: For Cruise, taking such a militant stand over it could be career threatening as big studios think twice about employing him for fear he holds them to ransom on a similar (or any other) issue.

Thats rather old news the Sunday Times is reporting: the original Scientology episode was due to be repeated on Wednesday 15th March, but was replaced with a random older episode. The 'blackmail' rumours started the following day, which obviously were denied by his agent very quickly (what else are agents for?)

Given some of his recent antics I dont find it too difficult to believe that there could be some truth in it: hes hardly going to be worried about how he will pay the bills next week ;)
