Look harder. At the bottom, you see "You lose control of the emerald simulacrum!". This means that the final 469 damage hit killed him, and he could have everything from 1 to 468 hitpoints left when this happened, giving him between 1195 to 1663 total hitpoints. In comparison, my (gimped Avalonian) Cabalist has 1465 hitpoints fully buffed, nothing special.

So yes, he is a caster.

I said slightly. Nothing even close to how overpowered LA was... But NS are fine. Against anything else than a thrust inf they are maybe even more than fine.
