im giving up daoc. fed up with attitude of people on server. but with eq2, wow, dragon empires all out in next 2 months, plus dark and light end of year, which shall i play. especially interested on points of view from any beta testers or people in the know ;)
dark and light looks by far the best mmorpg ever, and has huge potential. i just hope developers havnt concentrated on looks, and forgot about gameplay :)
not sure if i can wait 4 months :((

DE isnt even in beta yet, it will be next year before it is released most likely, if it ever even gets as far as beta.

WoW isnt due for release until the end of this year in the US, probably next year in Europe.

No idea about EQ2 tbh :)

If your quitting because of the "community" on DAoC, based on either ingame or forums, and not because of the game itself, then you won't find your valhalla in neither DE nor EQ2.

If you quit because you don't like the game anymore, then that'd make more sense.

So which 1 is it? :p

Just play on the american servers once its released there.

Will be playing WoW for sure, lots of people i know will be playing it. Although EQ2 looks really nice too so maybe i'll give it a try.

I guess EQ2 is what you want, if it's a different attitude you are after. It's going to be PvE only so I doubt many DaoC:ers or other PvP people will play it.

EQ2 out on 8th november, seen it, tried it, loved it, gettin it.

As an ex EQ player this definately appeals to me, the community is so much different because not nearly as much competition. No whining due to unbalanced players for one, as its pve all the way( unless they introduce duels). I do believe they will launch a good v evil server at some point, they had had a few pvp servers in EQ1, so you could play on there if you want RvR type play.

With the releasing of so many new mmorpgs in the next year, Daoc will have to do something drastic to stay up there imo.

DnL = God of MMO'games...

Quick overview: 40,000km2 view distance up to 50km dynamic weather and season system where clouds actually have mass and can be flown above and they are not painted onto the sky. near 4,000 fortresses a few hundered more then that though. PVP faction vs faction game (no same faction killing) In depth political system. Crafters are respected because only crafters can create really good items the best items can only be made under special astrological conditions such as constellations and very rare double eclipses. over 40 professions (42 i beleive) Mana tower system that requires caravans of supplies to keep operating.(caravans can be raided to starve an enemy mana fountain. Large battle strategies that can make a diffrence (We think so at least since there is a rock/paper/scissor thing going there) Snow sheilding (Snow boarding) Paragliding and parajumping. Possibility to die from elements such as hot and cold in mountains or deserts. 213 major cities. Thats all I can remeber off the top of my head. Check around for info if you want any more.

Simply the most deep concept, of ALL TIMES! If all goes as it does now, it will very easy get to be the king of the mmo's or the game of this decade!

I can't work out half of what you're saying about Everquest2, but it looks like babble. You do realise that when DAoC came out it only had a 4-character limit? As did Asherons Call. The game is very different to everquest, needing no EQ experience to pick it up at all...

Would you stop plz spouting that nonsense ? Both DAoC and AC launched with a 4-char limit PER SERVER (not per account), and THAT DOES MAKE A SERIOUS DIFFERENCE 'cause there were from day 1 quite a few servers to play on.

I *know* GOA "only" had 2 english servers at launch (that's still twice EQ2s char slots), but you still could play on a french/german server. Far from ideal yes, but I didn't claim GOA had amazing customer service ...

EQ2 has enough other merits so you don't need to bend the truth to praise it :p
