Help Sony MP3 Player

My brother has a 10yr old sony mp3 player (i think it uses atrac files?) and his 8yr old PC just died, losing all his stuff on the HDD, but its still on the sony. He uses a software called sonic stage? which is the sony inbuilt program, but it wont let him get the music off the sony and back on to the PC

Amazon wont let him re download any of his purchases either. Is there anyway he can savage his music off the MP3 player?

I'm taking him out on Sunday to get him a new PC, and then i'm going to get the HDD from the old machine and see if i can get it going and savlage any data off of it.

Have you tried winamp? I use that for my iPod and it allows me to take and put on what I like.
