I have an Ericsson T68, officially patched up to T68i.

Problem: Recently I've encountered repeated, intermittent slow down. It can take 10 seconds to get to the next stage of a menu, 30 seconds to enter a 4 letter word in a text message (regardless of whether T9 is on or off) and it can take 3 or 4 extra rings between pressing the "Cancel Call" button and the call actually ending. It's taking the piss.

-- Other times (like no, for instance) it's absolutely fine.

I've tried resetting to hardware defaults to no avail, it still happens.

Anyone got any advice? I'll try Googling and checking Esato as well, but you lot are dead good when it comes to advice :)

I've had it for over 1 year now, which I think puts it outside warrenty - though from memory it's been less than a year since I had the software upgrade.

Try reflashing the firmware, maybe something is buggered in the software. Then again, a phone full of MMS porn will do that to it.

Heh - I have no MSS, porn or otherwise ;)

It started after I dropped it - sounds fairly easy what the cause might be - but it seems strange that it's intermittent. It got dropped form about 2 feet top first onto a bottle. Bounced off and landed on my bed. Nothing happened immediately. It's been dropped before far worse with no comuppance.

I've not been able to find anything else on it by searching, which is annoying :(
