Thing with going to the cinema is that... you like go on dates to get to know someone better... but if you go to the cinema... you sit in silence for 3 hours, and then just go home.

Yes ok ok enough people have said it i shouldnt have brought her to the cinema but hey if i was good at date ideas i wouldnt have asked for advice would I? :p

Take her to Paris for the weekend

Just go to a nice bar works every time, or invite her over and cook it yourself :) Picnic in the summer is a blast aswell!

First date should be somewhere nice, where you can chat to get to know each other. Cinema is totally crap for that. I always used a nice restaurant.

fancy restaurant always seems to do the trick. tho that can be quite expensive as u cant take her to the local barfhouse if u want any hopes of seing her again :)

and during the summer, a well planned picnic is the bomb.

basically most things us lads doesent pay any attention to what so ever ;)

Oooh, cake after dinner is a slippery slope. Cake is "expected" after dinner. Also, as you said, she might be too full.

The element in "cake date" is that it's out of the blue, "what?", "just cake?!" kind of thing going through her head.

Noone usually thinks that "just cake" is a viable option, which throws the owman off her track, hiwch either achieves:

A: Thinking you're a loony, at which point she won't even go there.
B: Think you're innovative, suprising and throwing her off her track is a "turn on" in a minor degree.

If you do go for dinner-cake, then you can't use the cake-date for atleast two weeks.

In case of a dinner-cake, go for the cheesecake(unless she doesn't like it for some reason). I'd say dare to order two cheesecakes yourself and show some "foot down".

That way you save the special cake for the cake-date and also, cheesecake is a bit of a aphrodisiac.

So true -shame I have to spread the rep...

Cerb -if its the right person you can go anywhere.

if you're going for the dinner, then try something different - like tapas if possible :)

or make the dinner yourself. If you're good at cooking, you can really impress her.

Other than that, I would go for some iceskating first :) it's definately a winner, as she probably doesn't expect it, and the season for it is over soonish (atleast here :()

Date at home so soon = instant fail imo. If you've only just met her you got to keep it neutral ground so she can back off if she wants, or not feel so intimidated.. Prefably not your local where everyone knows you, cause again that's like pratically taking her to your house :p

(Imo anyway).

Cake date cake date!

Think you can hold the silly nerdy comments back like:

The cake is a lie!

or

Delicious cake!

...

Or when you go to pick her up, bring a bucket of condoms and throw them in her face :p
