Theres a new virus been released as well.

it goes by the name of "idocy" and infects Man 4.5, woman 3.2 and Child 1.0

its got a very high infection rate, and has been spotted "in the wild" many times already, so far 3.5million invections have been reported.

Its payload is very dangerous, it makes the person do rediculous stuff like open attachments from unknown people, or open car doors without watching behind themselves. it also erases reminders and important information from the brain.

the only way to remove this virus is to use our new cleaner, available here.

Strike head repeatidly until "idocy" is gone.

:D

Im at work, what do you EXPECT me to do! :p

We had a machine come down with bugbear yesterday.

We walked in the office and found all 5 laser printers had consumed all the paper in them printed jibberish on them then spat it out.

It seems it only infected one machine but its network scanning messed the printers up :(

I tried to use McAfee VS and its shitness was proved when it couldn't even find it (Latest DATS that should detect it) then it kept coming back with other viruses which it could clean/move or delete

I got the Symantec BigBear removal tool, ran it once, rebooted, logged in as the person who was infected re ran the tool and now the machine is clean. Plus Symantec's virus description was better detailing the printer problem...

VirusScan was updated to detect the virus within 15 hours of its detection. We've had no problems here. Mail server has picked every one of the blighters coming in using VirusScan's DATs.

Was fun yesterday getting loads of calls from people thinking they had a virus, when all it was, was our mailscanner telling them it had removed one ;)

Same here. :) Fortunately I've been promoted beyond mere servers now, so its not my bag, baby. Though I did relish the phonecalls asking me for advice.

Allow me a moment to indulge...
