Aye, T&T deserve alot of credit, they've played brilliant through this world cup so far. Shame it was the late late show again, but 3 points is 3 points. Gives us a chance now to rest our players for the sweden match, kick a few of them up the arse before the knockout stages come around.

last match i slagged sven, this match i will give him credit.
Seemed he finally realised (though was forced upon him as England needed a goal) that we are not a defencive side, and he made subsitutions to that affect.
The moment that Rooney stepped out the dugout you had the crowd geared up, that will always lift the players. He didnt do to much but least he easing self back into the game, unlike most i didnt expect him to come on and wipe the floor with him. What he did do was inspired the crowd and the team.
Leenan, well he has earned a place in the starting lineup in my opinion. He just stepped on for his second cap for England and seemed to wake them up. His pace and ability to take on players made all the difference and give players freedom in other positions. Good performance from him, though it be hard to slot him into the lineup. Possibility is to move Beckham central or just play 3 in defence with a 5 man midfield, rotating the holding player.
Gerrard was held back way too much, him and lampard need to sort out how they going to push on because they both are good up there but one needs to hold. However you cant just make same one hold all the time like they had been with Gerrard.
Poor performance up to the 60th minute when subs were made. Grats to Sven for once. Well done T&T, they didnt cower away from the game. Lets hope for a sweden draw tonight, T&T win on Tuesday and england get some sort a result against sweden

i'll agree that the first two subs Sven made were good and crouch had some good link up with rooney but WTF. why did he take cole off when after rooney came on he was runnin at the full back like lennon was and leave lampard on who was lets face it playin shit. i would of taken lamps off and put carrick on and let gerrard score earlier.

He took cole off because he wanted out and out pace on the flanks. Cole isnt a winger, hes a left sided midfielder

The reason that we didnt get that many goals is because Trinidad and Tobago where playing so deep in there half. If we attack they can just defend it straight away, but when they push up they have like 3 people in our half. Thats why we had all the chances

The save by Terrry was magnificent. If T&T would have scored there, it would have become a lot harder for ENG. Can´t say that Crouch made a bad game. The volley looked awful and this attempt of a bicycle kick was strage for a 2m guy, but after all, he scored and that´s what counts for a forward.
Just one thing from a ... more or less neutral ... pov: what´s up with your goalies? First, you had Seaman, now this Calamity James?! That seems to be a serious problem in the UK imo.

good enough performance really, not like T&T were likely to score (about from one half chance).
Form in front of goal was a bit of a worry, too many shots off target really, but England looked in control for most of the game, just took some time to make a chance to open the game up....
Owen still looks a tad rusty though

With the exception of crouch's effort that he put wide, T&T limited England to snap shots at goal. T&T showed just how easy it is to counter the long ball game by playing 5 across the midfield, forcing england to attack from deep, making it easier for T&T to defend. Both englands goals came when Sven decided to play with width.
