You're right there. My update program never deletes the characters from the database. This is unintentional though.
I was going to do it but now that I'm working on totally new version, I'm not doing it for the old version.
Thanks for reminding me, I'll purge the characters and guilds manually now so it'll get better until the new version.

PS. It should update corrently when characters changes guild. Only deleted characters would "hang around". Makes me wonder, who would delete top 100 character Those probably went unguilded (not showing in xml)
