The star of the event was this little chap, Lola's first prototype built in 1958, the first car to go around the indy circuit at Brands in under a minute.

Amazing pictures Tom, I would like to ask what camera you use?

The old Alfa with number 69 on it is so apt :D

Canon 20D Trem :) Most of them were taken with a high shutter speed and fully open, stored in raw format and then fiddled with a little using "Raw Therapee"

It ain't the camera that makes good pics Trem. If you want a digital slr then the entry level one's will do you fine.

Link me up then mummy.

Looks like the entry level nikons and cannons are around £550 for the latest models, no reason why you can not pick up a second hand cannon 300d or 350d for a lot less though.

fuck that!!

I ain't paying that for clearer pics of my cock!

:eek7:

I paid £150 for mine Trem :) There are a few on Ebay for a lot cheaper than that Amazon ad.

The camera isn't that important really, light first, subject second, framing third, lens fourth, camera fifth. I can shoot better images than some people, with only the camera on my phone.

I've been out in the bloody wind all day filming bikes, just got home, so here are some more:

The gorgeous and extremely valuable Merc in the background is mine, clearly the star of the show.....

Just been looking into it over the last couple of days (off on safari in November so I don't think my Sony Cybershot's gonna cut it :)); Canon EOS 400 or the Nikon D60 seem to be the best "a bit better than entry level" SLRs. Reading various reviews none of the other brands seem to come close. I quite like the look of the Nikon, but most people I know with half-decent cameras seem to have Canons.

Tom, is that Alfa a Zagato? Its luurrrvly.

Its a Giulietta SZ Sprint Zagato I think....I saw it driving by so just turned and snapped a few as it passed - that was the best one.

Canon EOS 400 or the Nikon D60

Can't comment on the Nikon, but I have a 400D and it's a great camera with the right lense. Bear in mind it's just been replaced by the 450D though.

I was going to go to Brands this weekend, but didn't cos the weather looked a bit shit. Looking at these pics I'm gutted I didn't go now :(

What lense were you using Tom ?

Just a bog standard 18-55mm, cheapo one really which is why you see some odd rainbow flares on highlights in some of the pics.

I plan to replace it with a prime wide, but they're pricey. Mind you I'm owed a fuck load of money right now so you never know.
