Solution to CS 1.1 connection Problem

I like a lot of other people have been having real problems connecting to servers since installing Counter Strike 1.1

I have the retail version and I could not get on any server often having CS freeze and drop my Dial up connection.

However if you download the US version of the 1.1 patch and install it it solved my problem
I can't remember the URL right now but the file is 19.3MB

There is no Us version its an international version, with language changes for non english countries. It may be that u had the original 1.1 patch which had problems, the verison u d/led was probably just the fixed version.

Your probably right CH3TAN. I am just happy to get the problem sorted. There still seem to be alot of people with the same problem I had though.

There seem to be many people who dont update correctly, or get the files from the wrong places. The way the Cs team and sierra handled the update for the retail version was stupid and uncoordinated, there should be no need for patches for patches but this is what happnened. Had they simply documented everything clearly there would be no problem, the amount of retail users that d/l the 1.1.0.6 patch before realising they did not need it was stupid.

I understand that your problem was solved, I am just trying to stop people being misled into thinking there is a US version of the patch which is better, they are the same versions. What happnened to you simply sounds like you got a corrupt patch or a incorrect version.

Understood. I thought it was a US patch because that is what somebody else called it in another Forum.
