Don't solo tbh, it's a complete waste of time and effort. Believe me, I know.

soloing on visuals is boring anyway tbh. Its too determined. Too much at the mercy of the RVR conditions. And thats just the framework for allowing "a" fight in the first place. When you get your fight its pretty predetermined on visual classes what will happen.

Assasin V assasin is fun fast furious. a lot hinges on relexes how well you style and abilities. but the balance is good.

same to a lesser extent though with archers V assasins.

imo anyway. I was hell bent on participating in visual melee contests but literally got bored with it after 3-4 days.

What made me quit was that I prefered to run as a solo SB (Granted, I sucked at it.. but).. More often than not I was frustrated by getting overrun or outflanked. I found out that maybe DAoC no longer is the game for me.

I'm now playing EVE, I like it.

Since i have played hunter i have seen alot of solo rouges:) seen a few mids grping but think 1 of em is on a mission to get rr11... gl with that, and today seen 3 hibs grped 2 rr7 1 rr3,but they was no prob having high mos i followed em and waited for them to attack and jumped in ftw:) so on a good note think it is better than what it used to be,but only been on hunter 1 week

it's a space MMO thats absolutely stuffed with PvP.. and it's growing. There are no shards, there is only one giant universe.. that has now seen 30000 accounts logged in at the same time. (This is off topic though).. oh if your ship gets blown up, you lose it. It's gone. Makes stuff more interesting if you can destroy hours of your opponents work ;)

That's your oppinion.

I've been soloing with visual chars for 4.5 years now. Frustrating at times? Hell, yea!
Not trying to say it's any better or worse for stealthers, it's just different.
You can't hide from groups as a visual, like a stealther can.
You have to use the war map, look at death spam, talk to people, use the terrain, etc.
As a visual soloer with no speed, you just don't jump off a boat and walk up to the nearest bridge. ;)

I know BGs can't be compared to lv 50 RvR, but i've played SB, infils(about 3 or 4) and hunter in BGs.
I must say it can be great fun to sneak around and often be able to choose whether or not to engage.
Even so fun i might finish my SB or hunter one day.
If i do, i wont stop playing solo as a visual though. Solo visual fights are not as predetermined as you make it sound like.
I have to rely on right styles just like an assassin. My zerker is using 10 styles regulary. Add 2 more the few times i want to kite.
As a skald i have only 6 styles that i use, but i also use a few other abilities instead of swapping envenomed weapon, and the fights can be just as fast(depends on what classes are fighting:p) .

I know you're biased towards stealthers, but it's not like you have to be this superfast guy with lightning reactions to play a stealther, while visual soloers can get away with hitting a button every 2 sec. :p

if u got consistently crap reflexes I dont think u will make a good stealther.

It's true stealther need to be fast hence haste and crap, i would say censi prob as 1 of the fastest reflexes,i have ever seen in game,not saying this cause i like him:) and vf, bigc are fast to:wanker:

I would say that reflexes are not a primary attribute for playing a tank class. You could be like the toughest tank on server, know how to play the class extremely well but just not be particulary fast at reacting.

I will agree with you and say that it does require good reactions and positioning to get off PA or backstab.
Especially when two assassins run into eachother stealthed.
However, once the fight starts, it's really not much of a difference.
You both use the styles you have to use and whatever abilities that are needed.
The one that react faster will have an advantage. Yes, tanks will have better tools to win against an assassin, but for tank vs tank classes with similar abilities, it's just the same as it is for assassin vs assassin.
I've watched so many assassin vs assassin fights, where all it comes down to is who got that last evade or who got the evade stun in.
It's the same for tanks. Who blocks, parries or evades the most...
I believe it's wrong to say that stealthers have to have better reflexes to win.

stealtherfights are all about logical sequence of when to use what - if you want to use everything:

- remedy, cl5 at inc
- when to purge? maliceproc, ps, debuff, stuns
- when to use ps, when to stun, when to use battler to prevent it getting purged
- reapplying poison
- choosing the right weapon

stealtherfights are usually very quick so id say reflexe-wise they are the 'hardest'. the longer the fight and the less abilities to use the more room for thought and error... think s/s tanks :p

I'm sorry, but i don't think s/s tanks, VF. I could think about my zerker vs assassins, or lots of other classes in this case.
Fights vs assassins are usually over quickly. Either i parry enough to win or i lose. Yes, i often lose because i don't want to use banespike, other MLs, vendo or whatever(or warguard when on skald). That's because i choose not to, not because i don't react fast enough.
Just as stealthers can chose not to use Malice, Vanish, etc.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but stealther fights aren't that special.

I've already said it will require fast reactions when 2 stealthers see eachother, but part from that, it's pretty much like any other melee fight.
Is it a fast fight? Yea, sure. Do i have to react fast when i play my skald or zerker to win some fights? Yea, sure.
I don't have time to think for 10 sec, or try to get into the right position whenever i see an enemy. If i run around a corner and see a caster, i'm dead unless i react fast.

His whining - to thread posting speed ratio does not count as reflexes.

On a more serious note, playing stealth classes does not require anymore reflexes then playing your average offensive tank (block bots not counted here). Its the same reflexes just used in different ways and both are equally vital to winning. Screw up on either side and you've lost.
And normal tanks don't have the luxuary of being able to escape easily if it does go wrong.

Though arguebly all offensive tanks require more reflex then your typical nuke and forget casters these days.

I've had fights with paladins on my visuals that lasts for some 20-30 mins... I must admit compared to running on a mos2 ranger the visual part of the game requires far less "reactions".

Agree with above posters, assassin fights are far more hectic and quick. Requires perfect timing with abilities/styles to win. While fighting visuals you can plan your fight better, imo.

i agree with you, and couldnt do more!

i try to do a decent rvr, what happens? i get steamrolled by the dam hib alliance zerg over and over again, most stupid part, albs give them free rps, dont know about mids.

and when i finally hit a solo, horner comes and adds... now thats something ill say QQ to :(

god i wished it was like on US servers :(
