Solo - Small Group Areas

There has been quite some whine from several people that want to solo or run in small groups and have a chance without getting rolled constantly.

Their mistake in my judgement (which is true of course) is that they try to do it in heavily populated areas, which really is not going to happen. I remember in OF I was going all the way down to Sauvage in hopes of some good fights, and I had some worth the trouble (and the 2 hours idle-ing waiting for that door to open).

At the moment, I mostly roam the Bold - Renaris - Hurbury - Surs area, mostly checking out the /rw at the same time hopping to find some action.

Most people I find there are xp-ers, but they're always more than me, some of them decent RR, hence no guilts for killing them. Occassionally I get some fights that are really amazing and I blame myself for not pressing the record button

I'm not playing that much as I'd like to lately due to RL reasons, however if I'm logged, you'll find me there most of the time.

It's not a difficult to reach area, boat to albion coast, jump after the Eras mountain, move east and start roaming, camp bold bridges/docs, and give me some nice material to finish my vid

So, to conclude:

Disadvantages:
- You have to take a boat, i.e. no insta action.
- You have to walk for a while.
- You have to use your brain to find where people might be.
- You have to learn the landscape and use it to your advantage (which mobs agro etc.)

Advantages:
- Your MLs RAs will be up by the time you get there.
- 99% of your fights will be add free.
- You can get a coffee while on the boat.
- You can read the paper if you're a stealther camping a bridge.

If you have some other prefered areas for roaming, please feel free to post em here, at least we'll know where we can go.

On a serious note, any heavy tank >>> vamps. Vamps > Casters, and vs light tanks the balance shifts depending on RAs MLs etc.

Assassins need to land PA and Creeping death, archers have to start hitting from max range and hope that my /use timer is not up and can't throw a javellin.

Don't turn this to a nerf <insert class> thread tho, there are plenty of em in this forum.

i prefer near Beno albs get insta port but its more accesible for non speed classes

I've been trying to get more people to use the bold/ren spots for ages but it hasn't seemed to catch on yet except with the same few people every time, least of all with the middies.

Its nearest thing there is to OF Odins.

Personally i'd happily travel even at tank speed if it meant finding fun fights.

gifv 1v1 only ever met you with yer pal and 2 vamps that can't fight without strafing like crazy > 1 shield (yeah yeah latency abuse is part of the game blah blah)

Had quite a few fun fights around that area (keep bumping into shamoth too... smite vs cave ftw!) - lets hope this thread brings us some more soloers and not some fgs out looking for easy pickings.

Hmm, I do have problems with vampiirs on my warrior tbh ( insert random predictable "but you suck" reply here ) Sure I block you alot but mostly negated by the massive strafing capabilities of some people out there. And if a vamp gets to hit a few times you are basically screwed anyways.

More on topic, have surs-renaris-bold for soloing alot, can get some nice fights there but just too long to get there, at least for me without speed. And chances are you wont find anything at all too so a bit bleh. But it is defineitly one of the better solo areas.

I too run the renaris xp routes down to snowdownia and back round etc but this has become too popular and noone xp's there much anymore.

I see kagato (looking hard as nails) and tend to avoid him if im on my lowly NS.

Done a few mid runs but mids dont seem to xp in their frontiers much (unless someone can tell me a spot im missing)

So, is lower alb frontier the place for solo and small grps? cus i only see hibs roaming round that area.

Make the alb shore a meeting point for solo / small grps, i dont mind a boat ride at all.

Aye im afraid flim is right there , doesnt work, or /face. I really cant see why any class like a vamp would need to strafe to win anyway. Maybe a nightshade , cos if u get hit , especially by someone like Kagato your gonna go squish rather easily . Mind u , if a vamp starts strafing me i generally sit and give him the rp anyway. Cba to waste my time.

Pity though cos like u said about nice fights, when they do fight fair i had some pretty good ones, cant say i won a single one i think but lol

3 reasons.

1. To by-pass blocking.

2. To avoid FZ.

3. When fighting multiple opponents for obvious reasons.

Tried to engage you and use my lv 18 shield style with a 5 sec stun off a block, but that didn't work too well.
Haven't pulled it off in RvR yet, as i either forget or mess it up, but one day...
