Please answer if you can! My Theurg is specced 45 Air 25 Ice.

1. Do I need MoF, if so at what level?

2. What RAs ought I to buy and in what order?

3. Can anyone post a decent template? Currently have the following artifacts activated and at Lvl 10: GoV, MS, JS, EC, CS & Tarts.

how lazy are you!

make your own template, youll get alot more out of your char and know its limits that way- depending whether your a petspammer or nuker (resist pierce or 25% duration etc)

mof2 will be fine, for the rest if solo go purge at a decent lvl and then passives- aug dex mom wp etc

2,8 sec delve spd on the nuke, and you can go briton or long john, i got dex4 first so i had beter cast spd

give sarc theurgs!!! :(

I didn't bother with MoF - don't need it for the nuke points are better off in passive damage RAs imo. Don't have much trouble landing mezzes personally.

At rr6 I've got MoM3 WP3 AA2 (Cos I'm briton so Acuity is a bit low) Purge 2 MCL1 (Champ Staff and Jacinas seems to be enough for power). 6 points spare atm - haven't decided between Dex Acuity or waiting for more MoM.

I don't solo alot - most often duo'ing with a 50e cleric these days. But I do it a fair bit and I don't think a Wind Theurg plays very differently solo or grouped really.

For a template I'd consider some of the pieces from new epic - nice caps nice procs and cheap :)

Hmmm - maybe I misunderstand it's function but I thought all it did was raise the level of your spell for resist calculations? I really don't get a noticeable amount of resists (other than the annoying ML ability ones that you notice after you've nurned all your power up :p) But then for 1 point it's cheap as chips :)

1 point for like 5% less resists worth it tho even for nuke

It just makes sense to use the best template you can. I've made one but I am not sure how good it is, and it doesn't use JS which everyone tells me is crucial.

Obviously I can't see the template you've made but I found that it was impossible to get anything I was happy with that used Tarts JS and CS. However, replacing Tart's with Champ Staff allowed me to cap cast speed without CS and therefore pick up resists on the cloak and include JS.

The additional resist piercing plus the chance not to use any power and a power repenishment use is really too good not to have.

at 7L2 my theurg is specced

dex5 mom4 acuity2 wp1 (wp2 when i get home and train)

never noticed a resist rate beond normal tbh so wouldnt bother with mof. dex imo is extremly important on theurg, the faster you spam them pets the better =) and as I am a dex freak the only one of my casters without dex5 is my chanter.

As i dont do templates because I am lazy i cant help u on that front :) however arti wise the usual making sure u got jacina, tart/champ, EC/AT

What cloak did you use? A few Theurg templates I've seen use the Cloak of Runic Rapidity.

Relatively that's 91% of the resist rate, so 9% less resists.

So 1 in 10 outright resists would land (10% less resists)

Where's this info come from? Did see forumula for spell lvl vs chance of resist a long time ago and never been able to find it since. Was in a grab bag, iirc.

Re: theug solo. Totally OTT class, if was me I'd get high aug dex to get the jump, mof1 or 2 and later purge 2. MoC and otherstuff I guess much later.

Pretty certain the formula is :

Chance of resist = 15 + (Target level - Spell Level) /2 %

That matches Flimgoblin's observations.

I'm using Darkflame on my Theurg and on my Sorc - I find the +4 all magic as nice bonus. But I do have some odd ideas about templates like capping hits and as much hits cap as possible too :)

muwhaha nice n easy :D pretty generic for all casters imo, maybe a wizz wouldnt need all the duration but itl suit me fine :D

I use MOF1 for the nuke, which definately gives a higher payoff than damage passives by making it resited less. If I soloed a lot I'd certainly got MOF2 for the mezz - the 1 in 5 times or so it's resisted is enough to get me killed on occasion such as when I'm forced to QC mezz.

RAs for a pure solo caster should be purge2-3 then pure damage imo, with MOC possibly. MOC won't be nearly as useful as on a lifetapper, but can be nice sometimes, I have MOC2 for groups but occasionally use a mocced root when I'm soloing and QC and RR5 are down.

Having said all this, I think solo theurg is a waste, it's not a bad solo caster, but with far better ML9 pets, SOI and MOC lifetap a sorc would be a much better choice.
