boot with a linux rescue disk [there are many on the internet] and use the fdisk [this is the one that really works heh] to wipe the partition tables.
after this action the drive will be EMPTY and you can make new partitions [or use the lameass dos fdisk to make new partitions]
lol is this the same drJones that used to come into #q2.uk asking for help on how to install winzip? I guess he's learned quick
shockingly (?) he's right, a low level format in bios should do the trick, as it bases it on your actual drive size (heads and cylinders) rather than on any erroneous partition info. Only problem is (for some reason) some modern bios'es don't let you perform low level formats... sounds to me like your drive is a bit fucked anyway if the various other solutions don't work, so if I were you I wouldn't take the risk of putting stuff on there and having it fuck up, even if you can get it working.
I believe you asked how to change drive letters in w2k before? I do believe you've also spouted (a huge amount) about your MSCE qualification you're getting ... you don't seem to be learning much tbh.
I installed linux on the 1 gb partion I could use, then once in there, I used this command from a webpage i searched for (cant remember url or command) but it basically removed all partions and all data.
Booted back to dos, fdisk'd and formatted, and all my space has returned. THe drive is also now partioned correctly using partion magic )
Out of intrest, I was once told that doing a low level format was a bad idea as it aparently wipes the hard disks vital stuff as well!?!? this always seemed odd to me as surely that defeats the object of doing it...
