I've been playing that leaked beta of the full release, and so far i'm not impressed.

Its buggy as hell mind, but it seems the *big* selling point of the game is crap, imo (the gore).

99% of the time you won't even get close to anyone to be able to see much of anything - they usually die with 1 or 2 hits, leaving the odd 1 or 2 red dots.

Seems very similar to the first though, which is run about shooting people and cutting up the dead bodies. You will ONLY see the gore and ghoul system if you do just that, which gets boring once you've seen it

The random mission generator seems a nice inclusion though.

Considering whether i should cancel my pre-order now, but i'm not sure :/

Yeah, I played it too and I like it. The random map generator is a Very Good Thing Indeed (TM) and whoever said the main selling point was gore? Yes, the beta is buggy as hell: but it's a beta, what exactly were you expecting?

Hmm... I've been looking at pics of Unreal 2 and Unreal Tournament 2003 which makes SoF2 look like an early Half-Life beta. Looks very bland.

If you do give it a go then you need to patch 1.06 (Gold version 26mb) first and then the 1.07 (Platinum 1.95mb).

1) I know its a beta, i wasn't moaning bout it being buggy

2) I have the game on pre-order. I'll wait for a review (and based on what ive seen) to decide. Waht i said earlier was too harsh for the beta, tbh.

3) Damage?

I know some people have been wanting some of the gory piccies, which a lot of the websites aren't showing.

Anyway, the main point of the thread was that the gore is an excessive marketing point (don't deny it isn't). A lot of articles have mentioned this very fact (last PCG did), and that all this modelling is next to USELESS unless u cut/shoot the dead bodies. The fact that the untouched bodies disappear quick, whereas the "cut" ones don't, proves this (maybe a beta issue?)

Anyway, isn't the Official release of the multi-player demo today?
