Ok first things to mention
i dont wanna hear any what is sociology or any of that crap:p, "decent" input only pls or sod off! xD

I need to think of a Question to title, and start my Sociology research project
the Title has to be a question, in which i will research the different reasons why something is the way it is etc in society, i dont need to find out the final WHY and how, just reasons which could possibly explain something

Not sure what to do:< but im very interested in religion within society, so any help would be appreciated pls:)

What influence does the Islamic culture have on our modern day society?
Is it a collision of religions or Middle age vs modern cristian times?
(as the Islam is 500 years younger then cristianity and we were in like the middle ages ;) ) no punt or rascist thing so chill :p

maybe something questioning why people feel the need to have faith in something, like you get people who say "i dont believe in "god" but i believe in something!!" as if to cover their arse if there is a god listening.

tbh if there is a god/higher being he doesnt really need me to believe in him im sure he'll cope.

or how about something to do with superstitions?

Possibly something looking at the idea of bringing religions together more and whether this will benefit society and those religions or just cause more conflict.

Could be a sort of for and against discussion.

I did my AS sociology coursework on education and how the working class are exploited in the capitalist society, expressing how the education system perpetuates and maintains society. Make sure to look at all different opinions and theories, Marxism, Functionalism etc. Also whatever you choose make sure you can find a decent example in context as there are about four sections and context is worth a lot. Good luck.

A-level?

I measured the affects of social control from within religion on society, to see if it was still a efficient means of social control.

Is the handled pint glass still the finest beer recepticle in modern Britain and is it socially relevant that you only find them north of Watford?

Now that has quality research potential :drink:

Why are there more divorces nowadays?

Should give you a nice excuse to rant about postmedrnity and the fact that the individual and his preferences are becoming more important. Marriage no longer is a commitment to someone, but just something for your self-development which you can stop as soon as it deoesn't suit you anymore. Or well, that's my (short and undevlopped) theory :), many different angles you can approach it from.

Then again, if you have to fund your essay with statistical proof this subject may be annoying.

Postmodernity or Hypermodernity? Was Marx right after all? (on a global scale) Are there any Bezauberungen left? (may be the wrong plural form though :p)

/edit: Bah, read too late you were particulary interested in religion, think the only title which could be relevant is the last one then :).
