Mum just told me that they are moving back to Portsmouth (my town of birth) in 7 months, (currently residing sunny in Slough) being 21 (22 in March) I reckon I should take this as an opportunity to spread my wings as it were. I also need to stay near London for my I.T Carrer.

Been with my girlfriend for a year now and things are still going well, should I ask her to move in with me? It would take a drastic toll on me as she is a clean person and well I am not. Also I am worried about losing my freedom to browse the net and play games etc and do other stuff when I want also I would be spending a lot more money on rent, council tax etc & I like money. It would also be a lot more comitment to our relationship which is a scary thing...

However, moving to Portsmouth would mean moving away from all my mates, and lots of travel cost's to come see the misses.

Gah I hate these important decissions.

More importantly it means I will be in bumming distence for Vlad!

Tough one there mate, moving in with a girl can be the best and worst thing ever. You will have to give up many things like hours and hours of computer playing cause they will want to spend time. But on the plus side it is nice waking up with someone every day (and you will save money)

I wouldnt worry about the clean thing, she will have you whipped up quicker than you can think trust me.

Depends if you are ready for that commitment. I moved in with someone when I was 20. At first it was great, but being a "jack the lad" after a couple of months I knew id made the wrong decision. Couldnt go on lads holidays, couldnt spend all day saturday and sunday down the local, couldnt get off with any woman that I wanted to etc etc You need to be sure its what you want.

Tbh I would avoid moveing in a flat just with you girl friend. Always seem's like a great idea but can cause problems if the other person is not really "ready" to move out. If it goes tit's up you will be left in contract for the rent and will need to find someone to cover the extra bit which is a shitter if you only have £10 a week to live on, after rent tax travel costs etc


My advice would be try to get in on a three room house share (generally the more rooms the cheaper the rent per room) with a few trustworthy friends (doesn't have to be your best friends etc just ones you know will pay the rent and bills on time). Girl friend can come over

Stick a markerboard up with who's paying what bills etc and how much everybody needs to stick in, sounds abit gay but saves a whole lot of arguments in the long run.

Just try renting a place with her on a short term contract and if it dose not work tell her the landlord wants you out or another excuse and you have got out of it. I tried renting a place with a mate we got on great and the first cuple of weeks were ace but then it just got crap so after the 3 months we both just said nah and moved back to the parents. I know its not the same as a girlfriend but a trial would deffinatly be the way to start.
