Downloaded Planetside, nicked a friends account....
Apart from the fact that it looks like the release date is farrrrr too close (remember Tribes 2 anyone?) it looks like it could be fun. But....
....how the smeg do you play it?!!
Logged on for the first time, went into the "training" bit to have a look about.
Training? Training???!!
It kinda leaves you alone to find out for yourself. Not even a walkthrough of the basics. There were stacks of n00bs like me sat a vehicle pad and some even managed to get their reavers to fly (without crashing no less!) - but the biggest question being bandied about was:
"How do we quit out of this bit of training and go back to the sanctuary??"
!
As luck would have it - I, myself, didn't need an answer. The game crashed to windows.
As for weapons training. No help with standard loadouts or simple explanation of basic armour types. It leaves you to discover it _all_. I'm not lazy - but does anyone remember the basic half-life training for the n00bs? We didn't need it - but we could all appreciate how useful it would be for someone who'd never played that type of game before...
Anyway- in the short time I was there it looked like it has potential. I'll persevere and see what I can do
