So my computer blew up..

Okay so my dad and I split the good ol' com apart, but still have no idea wtf is wrong with it. We decided to take the HD out and transfer all the stuff that I needed onto my portable HD. Dad got a HD port at work and brought it home. I can easily open all the files, but one map. My personal user folder from the other com. I tried to reboot it in safemode and open it that way, but still got denied access to the content of said user folder..

What do, FH?

Maybe try changing the security of it. Not 100% sure but try logging into safe mode, right clicking the file and changing the security of it?

Google it aswell, i've had it before where you had to change the security in DOS.

That got me in the first folder, but all the folders within it are still locked. Wtf? I gave my new user permission to open the folder and everything within it

go in safe mode log in as administrator and claim ownership of the folder and all subfolders

Yeah, I did that, but I cannot open any of the files.. Can only see that they are there!

Can't remember what OS you said you were running. If XP, try ERD Commander. Possibly some help here Free Partition Editors, Managers and Recovery (Partitioning Software) (thefreecountry.com) but I cannot verify the quality of anything on there.
