So long Albion

Its with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to all my albion colleagues - its been an addictive couple of years - made plenty of friends and not quite so many enemies.

After 2.5 years of service to King Arthur (or whoever's in charge these days) not putting a legal foot wrong, I had a moment of madness at the weekend and realm point farmed an alt with my lvl 29 hibby hero char. This involved a trio of deaths to get sufficient rps for master of blocking in order to make the solo grind to 50 slightly more bearable (as other people have noted - hib/pryd really has very few groups about - I've been in just two in three months going from 1-29). I realise this is no justification for my actions, and have been disciplined by GoA (suspension + deleted char for those who wondered). I want it known I hold no grudge what-so-ever against GoA or whoever (if?) reported me - what I did was wrong and frankly deserved to have accounts banned. In many ways I'm glad there are sufficient safeguards in place to stop this behaviour occuring.

So its a fresh start for myself, in the green land of the celts. I have a new account and the alb ones' subs have been cancelled so I'm never tempted again to stray off the rightful path.


I'd like to say a huge thankyou to all the guilds over the years which have permitted me to join their ranks (Kalina Ohtari, Lions of Lyonesse, Guardians of Power, Order of the Knights Templar, Blood Angels, Rosicrucians, Uranicus Phalanx). Crikey I was a guild whore... A special thanks to Escape for all the help he gave me during the early part of the game - I never did return your robes!

I'll never forget this excellent late night session in AC with you and Myste (I was there on Blozzom) ... must have been one of the most entertaining DAoC experiences in since I loged into this "game" the very first time.

Both are your accounts and you should be able to do it, imo... worse things have happend. Did GOA delete your hero only? or your alb chars too? oO

No idea if it's against the CoC but I've done it loads in the past for the same reason as you (getting the rps to get through the hard levels), I guess its just you being unlucky that someone reported you.

That's not true, you can have characters on other realms on the same server though farming yourself and informing the other realm of things like relic raids etc is not allowed, theres so many people that play 2 realms on the same server theres even been a topic about it and Raquiel (or some other GOA employee) told then it wasn't illegal.

Yes - there's nothing illegal concerning multi-realming on the same server - which makes a lot of sense given that there are only 2 English speaking regular servers.

What I got in trouble for was rp farming, specifically:

"We have investigated an incident of realm point farming and found your account to be involved. As we have continually made clear and which can also be found in our FAQ, this is considered against the athmosphere of the game and an unintended exploit of the game mechanics"

Its not exactly like I didn't know it was shady teritory anyway - so no complaints from me.

They just deleted my level 30 hero - ie. the one which had gained from the farming. I just wish I'd not spent so long doing all the quests and farming all the trophies up to level 30 now!

Hibby life is good anyway - albs just a distant memory. I think I've finally settled on a firby b/s hero (after trying virtually all Hero race/weapon combinations) so I'll be back up to speed in 3-6 months or so, bashing the tin cans about a bit in the frontiers!
