In Darkfalls defense, they started making the game like 2 years before Blizzard

To be fair though, that really doesn't matter.

It's the fact that everyones going to be too busy playing WoW.

Escaping the mountainous shadow that is WoW's player base, I can't see any MMOs making so much as a dent in it, the first day sales for Lich King kind of proves that.

Quite f*cking impressive still.

Though, there are niche games out there that can compete against WoW, you either need a niche(mechs, spaceships, vampires, etc) or a BIG fanbase.

Cases in point, WAR and EVE.

Actually think Goldsellers are having a very hard time atm due to how easy it has become to get gold, they've basically made them redundant.

Darkfall gave new meaning to the phrase "vapourware" many years ago.

7 years in development now?

Anyway, it looks reasonably ok, but doubtful it'll be the mmo gamers saviour. It was hailed as the Holy Grail of mmorpg's but, by the looks of it, it's more of a Styrofoam Cup.

Played WoW for a while PvP sucked and got bored of the grind/raiding the giant mob 20 times so gave up.

Will take a look at Darkfall.
