Games So. Is it Spoogetastic or Wijalicious?

Diablo 3 that is. I figured it's a big enough game launch to deserve a discussion in General the Front Room

I've heard that the Battle.net servers are down at the moment (funny - there's your justification for LAN play on launch day) - but that was always highly predictable tbfh.

What I want to know is - is it any good? First impressions. Pretty? Smooth? Easy to find mates and play? First levels? Atmos? Music?

Basically - have you shot your wad or do you feel like you've been violated by our resident rapist?


Your answers will help me decide whether should take a trip to Tesco's tomorrow to spaff my cash or whether I should just pre-order 4 copies of Torchlght 2 on Steam for me and a few mates (with 4 copies of Torchlight 1 to gift, no less) - for less than the price of a single digital download of D3

From quick quick quick glance this morning, it gave an instant D2 retro boner. And i didn't manage to do more then test the graphics with a "test toon" and smash 3 zombies heads in.

Does not bold well for my future life.

I got it free(wow sub gift), but i would pay for it since it's going to be around for a while and the hours/buck ratio is quite good. It all ofcourse depends on if you at all like the style. Friend passes(haven't lookoed them up() should be laying around as quite a few freddies play it.

I'd say a safe bet is to think of it as Diablo 2 with 15% swing either way, good or bad, depending on taste and new feature feelings.

Like Toht I got it for free for being a long-term Wow subber. Would've bought it on release regardless, even though I wasn't much of a fan of the first two.

This 3rd one however plays great, looks good and has many improvements over the first 2.

I played through the beta once with a couple of friends and it was kinda fun but not enough for me to want to rush and buy it. I might get it when it's cheaper and I have a few people to play with.
