So today that amazon package arrived, including these three sweet things:
Amon Amarth - With Oden On Our Side (Special 2disc edition)
Blind Guardian - A Twist In The Myth
Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death
For all those who like Amon Amarth, the new album is awesome and the live recordings on disc 2 are really good aswell (Wacken 2004). Imho the style is a bit closer to "Once Sent From A Golden Hall" than to "Fate Of Norns".
The Blind Guardian disc has some nice songs on it, but I had to say it was nowhere near the good old "Nightfall In Middle-Earth" album, still a great buy though. For those who like BG it's definately a good album, for newcomers I'd say Nightfall is better =)
Iron Maiden. Well, what can you say, the beast won't change. I think the album is definately better than "Dance of Death" which is also due to the nice instrumentals within the songs. It is clear that after such a long time it is hard for Maiden to give really huge innovations without leaving their style, so I think this album is worth the money, also the cover artwork is the best of all Maiden albums so far (that's my opinion ofc).
So if you think you need some music in the Rock/Metal genre, "Run to the hi"...eh stores and grab the Maiden or the Amon Amarth album =)
