Depsite all the doomsayers Arsenal did ok. Tried to walk the ball in again a few too many times but considering the youth they had on display they looked good. More positives than negatives for me. Walcott was the only dissapointment today, nothing he tried worked out. Will be great when Fab's back.

Still, don't think we'll win anything unless we get a decent midfiled player in.

Arsenal are still lacking, Eboue in midfield (or anywhere) no thanks.
Liverpool are off to a slow start.
Chel$ki looked strong by far the best performance of the big 4.
Man U 1 man team. When hes out they do not turn draws to wins.
Spuds still shit even after all that money.

Well done Newcastle, watched the game with my Dad and Brother who are both big United fans, and, well it was quite fun to say the least.

United drop points against an average Newcastle side at home, people take some joy in that. Then sad twat Utd fans like you come in and think they're being victimsed and that people are saying their season is over.

Ignore it bud, nothing of importance is won in August. Just bask in the joy of that United gave us in May 2008, don't let the bitterness of others bring you down to thier level. Any neutral can see them for exactly what they are.

It shows gaping holes in your team though when Ronaldo is missing Cho.

We still created enough chances without Ronaldo to win the game, it was not to be. Utd over the years have gotten rid of players that other teams would not have dreamed of and they are still the team to beat.

Ye bit worried bout this season tbh don't think we're gonna do as well as we did last year, but heres to hoping :) Btw lol at Eboue trying to shoot from long range whatta tit.
As for Manu fans well it's first game of season nothing is won or lost in 1 match.
Chelsea could be the force to reckon with this year.
Liverpool should be renamed Torres Fc.

Gaping holes? Did we not create enough chances to win easily yesterday? The problem was not on the right wing, it was losing Tevez and not having a top class striker to replace him with. We hammered the Toon for long periods but didn't show enough class infront of goal, that was all down to Rooney having to play deep to accomodate Campbell.

Does this look like a side short of chances Vlad?

Man Utd Newcastle

Shots (on Goal) 21(7) 11(2)
Corner Kicks 6 6
Offsides 0 0
Possession 58% 43%
Saves 1 6

If it wasn't for Given it would have been 3 or 4 goals for us, the bloke played a blinder and spared his side an embarassing scoreline.

To me it seemed like Newcastle contained you quite well. Colocinni and Guitierezz both had great debuts and as you said Given played a blinder.

United did however look short of ideas towards the end.

You would think after the 5th time of hitting nothing but the fans he would realise he can't shoot. We have some cracking youngsters coming though but im not sure Diaby or Denilson are up to being Cesc's midfield partner yet. I would have personally loved to have seen Makelele come in for a year or 2 to help the kids along and play the bigger games. As is i can see another sub 10 mil midfielder being signed and falling short this year, Wenger does not seem to want to pull the trigger on a massive transfer.

Guitierezz looked quality, Colocinni didn't convince at all, remember he was marking a young lad who has played next to no top class football. As for Newcastle containing us, second half you have a point but as the stats show we had more than enough chances to win. Shay Given had a blinder, he saved 2 shots with his face for gods sake. :D

With regards to looking short of ideas, Fergie made a big mistake in subbing Giggs. He had played a number of good through-balls and had made the Newcastle defence work hard but after he was subbed we lacked any real kind of width beyond Evra who was very wasteful in possesion all game.

Anyway, nothing to panic about. I saw enough to know we will beat alot of the lesser sides with what we had yesterday, once we get Tevez and Nani back we will be much more of a force. Then we have Park, Anderson, Ronaldo and Saha to return and perhaps a new striker. It is far from doom and gloom. ;)

All we lacked was that cutting edge, which wasnt a surprise when we lost tevez.

I personnaly feel we would have won the game if Giggs remained on the pitch, however with a hamstring injury in the first game there no point pushing it and tearing the muscle then not having him for 6weeks.

Campbell done well for a debut, but him and rooney didnt click.... credit to newcastle they done well however Man Utd had the chances to win the game.

Im not worried, we had a poor start last season and look how we finished. Got plenty of players to return to the team in the near future. Would like united to throw a 15-20million bid at Santa claus. I like him and it be a test to blackburn.... i know they turned down 12million, but rather spend 15-20m on him then 25-30million on berbatov.

Chelsea looked good, wasnt depressing to watch them for a change. David James had a howler of a game and as always a lame penalty given by referee. SO often they give ones like that but not the clear cut ones... yeah dilberate handball when you not even looking at the ball, go linesman!

Deco looked a class act. I always said i worried if he came to england. The test will be when a really physical side knock into him more.... but to be honest i think he will cope.

Since it just went to the last game of the season last season it shows how important every game is, funnily enough united dropping points even in the first week could mean the difference in 1st or 2nd. However with 37 games left there's probably no need to worry.

United need a greedy striker, i think berbatov can fill this role in nicely so if they get him they'll be fine. At the moment its just a matter of grinding out results whilst many players are out. We managed it last season with Avram so it should be possible but since you have some hard games coming out i can see points being dropped.

Deco looks a bargain at 8m. Even if things do get too physical for him against some teams then there is always the option of swapping him for lampard/ballack/essien/mikel or a winger :p

It doesn't get much more physical than Pompey imo. Did you see Bouba Diop? He was just flattening anyone who came near him.

Hull will stay up, I think 16th is roughly where they will finish.
