Nope - the mobo isn't. You'd have to buy the next model.

The gfx card could be run as crossfire'd if paired with a master edition iirc.

You'd need a meaty PSU too.

I went with a Gigabyte mobo. Clocks well. Got cheapo GeIL RAM too. In fact ask Ch3t to forard you the PM I sent him

and OC the hell out of it. comes to 936odd euros. if I sell the remaining bits of my rig for a tidy 550eur, the upgrade will "only" cost 386e, but I'm disinclined to do it as I also want the 24" screen. the screen is more important to me than the upgrade imo. we'll see heheh

isn't that DDR2 only? so you'd need a c2 cpu, a c2 mobo and ddr2, meaning that I'd have to buy two gigs all over again. I'm a bit more thrifty these days that I used to be you know.

Tbh I too would choose a c2 cpu were I to upgrade now, but I'll be upgrading (other than the 24" screen that I'm lusting after) sometime in 2008. The entirety of 2007 is saving up for Australia

Back on the Conroe subject, heres some comments from people who seem to know what they are on about

i went from a 3700+ @ 3ghz to the 6400 you see in my sig and i can tell you that the difference is incredible! windows so much zippier, and just everything more responsive but i do agree that if the finances aren't as high as you'd hope then it's not really worth it, but if the money's going spare then why not it's a great upgrade that will last!
