so can't we do anything, we could club together and buy the servers off you and then give you them back.

Cash,Cash,Cash

Good idea, but they need cash NOW.
Prehaps we all should put a cheque in the post to BarrysWorld Tonight for £10, Just to try and save the day.

If you sent a cheque into BW now the liquidators would cash it and pay off the creditors.

Any rescue package has to be through formal channels.

Maybe we should spam Bill Gates?

He refers to the (rally?) car BarrysWorld sponsored last year.

TBH, I understand it was marketing, but why a car? why not something actually useful (this isn't so much a snipe as a comment kthx)

Just to clear up a misconception :) The BW sponsorship of the car was at a hugely reduced rate, so much so as to be irrelevant to the general costs of running BW. Also, the marketing campaign ended some time ago, with only marketing being as part of larger business to business deals since then.

Our main cost items were always the game servers and the bandwidth of all the connections to the game servers (we were Level3's biggest customer at the colocation in terms of incoming/outgoing data).
