So...anxious about nothing?

I've been, past few days, rather occupied in my thoughts, feeling like i've done something, that something is undone, but can't pu my finger on it. Basicly anxious about nothing. It's like this pressing feeling of, "Do something".

Not about not having a job. Working on that.
Not about the cash either(i manage).
Not about the apartment, as i've been in the situation for "ages" now.
Not about pissing off friends, nothing done there.

Only thing i could think of that COULD cause this, is that last friday i got a bit too much to drink and the last 30mins or so of the barnight are a blur. So i might have said/done something silly. Even that was in a "semi new" crowd, so couldn't give a f*ck if i danced naked.

But i've never, ever, in 4 years of hanging out at that bar, have done anything THAT naughty, even if plastered to infinity and beyond. And i can check tomorrow if i did anything, no worries there. And i don't worry about saying/doing things, everyone gets drunk at times.

So basicly it's not that either.

Annoying as f*ck when you can't really concentrate and just "be", cause of this nagging feeling in your brain.

Was just curious, do others get those, anxious about nothing feelings? Do you just, "let it go away" or do something?

No i'm not emo, drunk or hungover OD you son of a b*tch :D

It could be related to anything or nothing. Thats the thing with anxiety, a lot of it can be related to things you think you may have under control.

Would love to be able offer advice, but my usual way of dealing with it is to get stuck into a book or some work.

Yeah i get it from time to time(hungover anxiety is the bomb :D), and i can handle it. BAsicly as long as i'm out of prison, i'm cool with anything.

So it's no "I'm gonna kill myself soon Help!!" kinda thing, was just more curious on what people do, how they deal, is it common etc.

It could be related to anything or nothing. Thats the thing with anxiety, a lot of it can be related to things you think you may have under control.

That's a good point, kinda like accumulated anxiety. 5% of nonwork, 10% of single living, 15% of almost out of whiskey etc :D

Think you want to take stock of your drinking. I used to play DAoC until the early hours of the morning and at first I used to have a little to drink. Great fun on the forums after and everyone had a ball. Hell I was the life and soul of the Battleground Forums for ages. Trouble was I gradually drank more and more. My postings eventually became aggressive rather than humorous and I started getting up in the mornings with memory blackouts. This was after a few years but I had moved onto drinking whisky. No idea what I had been posting until I had visited Freddys - or whatever forum I might have used. I allowed this to go on for too long until it became serious. I purposely banned myself off forums by altering my email address etc and doing something - can't remember what exactly - so that I couldn't get access to my password. Now? I drink a lot less but am still prone to falling off the wagon now and then. What started out as a bit of fun and a drink eventually built up into a drinking problem. Blackouts are damn well dangerous and highly embarrassing. Be careful!

Em.. Oh :(

I know that feeling quite well, usually ends up being nothing though. Is great when you realise you've actually done nothing. THOUGH, if something did go wrong, and it's not a good thing; it won't be lived down for a while.

Not really, it's never out of control as i never fall for the "hangover hair of dog cure" thing. Only thing responsible for drinking problems some scientists even say.

Anyhoo, personally i can keep it under control and don't mind blackouts(if not every weeknights), sometimes it's just "party on and see ya tomorrow" feeling.

I htink drinking is more accepted in finland then, let's say, UK or US, where having a drink every friday is a problem allready :D

its not that drinking on a Friday is a problem, its the amount a male or female actually gulps on the Friday that is a worry.

I dreamt last night that I only had 1 eye. However, my second eye was actually working but my head was telling me otherwise. Anyway this led to a bizarre conversation on a beach about something I have no idea about, other than the fact I was laughing uncontrollably. I stopped laughing after I was slapped by an old school friend.

I always have weird dreams, dream books give me vaginal warts though so I always just end up forgetting about finding out the meaning.

lol, you need to come to the UK and see what it's really like. The only social issue with drinking here is that most people drink a weeks worth (units) in an evening.

I can take a stab at this for him. Dream goes like this:

Lieing flat out on his back at this strange bar looking up a barmaids skirt. Bottle of whisky stuck up his nose instead of in his mouth as he wanted to sniff it for a change to see if he could get drunk faster. Oh and he had peed himself too. Trouble is this is a constant dream he gets most mornings and isn't really that sure if it is a dream at all!

That should give you something to go on :).

Also depends on the age and the amount of time you're there. During the end of last year (not exactly proud of this) myself and two friends were at a regular pub from 2pm (GMT) on the Thursday, to 3am GMT on the Friday - Constant drinking. Was a stupid amount of alcohol consumed that day/night.

One week worth of drinking in the UK/night is standard honestly. Kills your liver (hense why I dont' do that much)

Ah got that feeling sometimes also, but thats usually after ive been to town. I usually just check with friends what ive doing to see if our stories fit together. So ive ive not done anything, and still got that anxious feeling i doublecheck w/e ive got going in my life to see that its nothing there either and then call some family to say hello. Then it usually goes away.

Think you can skip most of the stuff here and just call family and say hello. Usually makes you feel pretty confortable :)

I dreamt last night that I only had 1 eye.

To dream that you have one eye, indicates your refusal to accept another viewpoint. It suggests that you are one-sided in your ways of thinking.

I stopped laughing after I was slapped by an old school friend.

if the friend was sad, which may be because they are showing unhappiness by slapping you then that shows signifies sickness and distress upon them.

Or if they are an old friend from childhood then that signifies regression into your past where you had no responsibilities and things were much simpler and carefree. You may be wanting to escape the the pressures and stresses of adulthood.

The middle part i'm a little stumped with but i'll work it out

Cool thanks while you are at it.

I have had a dream, I recall having this dream at least five times throughout my life and tbh its almost like a childrens tale.

I am in a forest with a girl and we are running from a giant. this goes on for god knows how long and then I wake up, feeling desperate to see the girl from my dreams to the point where I was trying to fall back asleep to try and find out more information :p

This thread actually got me looking into 4 dreams (yes, 4) I had in the same night.. The results were: (Summarising)

1) I'm either at peace (mentally) or I'm ignorant of the things around me.

2) I can't find a way to get what I want out of sex. ("Signifies repressed desires of your own sexuality and passion. It may also mean that there is some sort of confusion in where you distribute your energies. You may be going in to many direction and as a result, is spread too thin.") - DUH? I'm fucking obsessed with one person -_-

3 & 4) I'm not happy not being in a relationship.

Oh i remember almost every dream, especially if it's a good one and i want to.

Most the time i lucid dream though and what i dream is what i want to dream(with minor hiccups).

Analyzing them would be rather, well, pointless.

There are those normal nights too, but i know as much about reading dreams as the next "internet psych" but, thanks for the offer :p

I get days where I suddenly get very criticizing of myself and start to ponder why I sit here and play games, why I don't put 100% into my school work all the time etc.

It's usually just the one day and I usually try to get rid of it asap as one time it happened I ended up canceling my sub for WoW due to it.

i'm not talking about the dreams when you to bed its the ones before you wake up, if you can sahpe those ones then you are already awake/sleeping too long

Its the dreams just before your alarm goes off, you cant shape them. Trust me you cant before you say you can

Well, have you heard of lucid dreaming? Dream control? Learning to remember dreams? Trust me when i say i can. I've been learning lucid dreaming for about a year and a half and i'm rather good at it(nowhere near complete mastery). Hell, i can even control dreams(completely) every now and then, probably once a week atleast. Decide what happens and know well and when i'm dreaming, when to wake up even. Nightmares are maybe once in two months(when i'm too tired to concentrate on my sleep), learned how to avoid them also.

Also, can't find it now(have to ask my bro where it was), but according to new sources, dreams go in 1.5 hour sequences when the brain processes new knowledge and such. Which is why daydreams are good for you.

sleep more and eat complex carbs Seel.

Heh, sleep more unemployed? :D Also you're such a new age hippy for always telling "it's the carbs" :D

Definitely yes. Once or twice a month, maybe.

Haven't found any cure, but normally it goes away after a few hours or a good night of sleep.

yeah i can do it too, been doing it for years, but its only after a certain step in the cycle sleep, the part you cant control right at the beginning of the dream step (the part that alot of people cant remember, those are the ones who say they dont have dreams) is the part that gets analized

just had a read on it, yeah i have been doing that for as long as i can remember. i still have dreams that i remember and can work out those usually happen before i can start shaping them

EDIT: YEah lucid dreaming has been linked with REM so its at a certain point in the cycle

Btw if you havent noticed i'm into dreams been learning how to read them for years after i used to constantly have a dream for 6 months and since then learnt alot

Well, the way a controlled drema works, is that you enter the dream in a controlled state allready. No "realising".

Sometimes in the middle of a dream you can realise it too and take control. This happens often too.

Other times, and which is easier to achieve, is what i do almost every night. That's when i think about what i want to dream about and, dream about it. That simple really. I don't control the dream, but it's exactly what i want it to be about. Like say, i want to dream about a job interview, i do, and i'm more relaxed in the job interview 'cause the night before i went over it in a dreamstate.

A total, uncontrolled, out of the blue something happens dream...those happen when i'm too tired to control them or too tired to want something. Even then i remember them when i wake up and momorise if i see them as interesting.

I've read about dreams and their possible meanings also, so i don't really need them analysed.
