Yep, had a quick go on a German server on the previously unplayable El Alemein, and it ran a treat.

Tiger is now an absolute killing machine, don't try to nail it with 'nades anymore, the driver will laugh at you before blowing you into a million very small and bloody pieces.

Also, I was flying a plane and when I got shot lots it didn't blow up, but had some particularly impressive flame effects that gave me the chance to bail out as it hurtled earthwards. Now I don't use the planes lots, so this could have always been there, and I only just noticed it, but it was pretty cool anyway.

One other thing, when I first installed the patch, it went Crash to Desktop everytime I tried to launch multiplayer. I think this was either down to the merciless addon I had installed, (see bloodpatch thread in this forum), or the view distance change I had made, which is dissallowed from this patch. Either way a quick reinstall sorted it out.

From what I understand, though I'm not 100%, the US patch is just for English language, whereas the European patch will support other languages. So if you need to install it in French hold off, otherwise, it seems to work ok for me, and the clanneh I have tonight is on a 1.2 server, so i have little choice :)

The Tiger was already a killing machine, i cant believe they have made it even harder. oh well will just have to make sure i nick one before everyone else get it :)

AS gumbo said G had a match tonight on 1.2, very impressive patch, it's fixed 90% of the problems that were present and made a more rounded game.

Which is a shocker as I hated the game for all it's problems.

Not wanting to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I've discussed the 1.2 US patch on the BW servers with the powers that be and they have contacted the relevant people.

The answer comes back that there are subtle changes and that it is not recommended - so we wait for the Euro release before patching!! :(

On the upside, the Euro release is currently with the test dept. and will be very soon (hopefully this is sooner than the 2 month wait for 1.2 :( )

So there you have it - waiting for 1.2 Euro Im afraid.

Ah well, the improvements gained from the US patch are so great, I'll stick to those servers that are updated to that for the time being. If that means a re-install when the Euro one comes out so be it. It's no big hardship, and the game is sooo much sweeter now.

Servers all up and running version 1.2 now, let us know of any bugs / problems spotted.

The US and Euro patch are exactly the same size down to the nearest byte.

Can you say 'thinly veiled attempt to prevent 2 continents worth of downloading happening on the same day'?

I think they try to play up that they are different cos that way they do not have to admit that the only difference in the games is the yanks get proper nazi stuff and we get politically correct german details.

As the official BF site and EA site don't mention the Euro patch, and the EA servers have not been updated, and the 'Euro Patch' hosted here is exactly the same as the US patch. Is it possible that this 'Euro patch' is a hoax, that someone renamed, or did it come from an official source and EA are just being slow to update?

Heh, mystery solved then, and it turns out EA were being devious buggers by saying that there was 2 different patches.

EA really don't help their dodgy reputation with things like this do they?
